Saying he was 5'7, then 5'4. He couldn't have been more than 4'11. I'm 5'3 and 5'4" with shoes and I towered over him completely.
Lying about stats is one thing - but also a monstrous beer belly.
I'm going to try to counter this with sheer honesty and get myself a pic that is full length. I don't want anyone to be able to say I misrepresented myself, even though I take my own photos and they are real recent!

I am sorry you had this experience. I don't understand how people can lie about stats because as soon as they meet someone in person, the other person is going to know. Just view it as another life experience, laugh at the other person's foolishness and live large. There is a wide world out there just waiting for you.

So....what did you do? Did you walk away? Spaz out on him? Pretend nothing was wrong?
Tell us!
Last time it happened to me, I left while she screamed obscenities at me...like it was MY fault.

Why does Gimli from Lord of the Rings suddenly
pop into my head?
OP...I suggest using a webcam which can expose...
a lot of "shortcomings." Good Luck!
Edit:You don't know any short jokes?
Hum the Randy Neuman tune "Short People?"

I took a couple of days to think about it, and tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, then broke it off and said I wasn't attracted. He countered with a bunch of texts calling me fat over and over, really abusive. (No other guys I know agree with that particular put down).
When a guy has a huge beer belly that is out of proportion to the rest of their body, isn't it most likely their **liver **?
Also, how much is not dishonesty but just a fantasy self body image?
I'm still going to get a full length pic and so I'm never accused of this.

Girl sends me a pic and all sorta correspondence from a different place. Asks me for pics, and I sent her recent, unretouched shots, explained my physical flaws...(couple of not REAL noticable missing teeth from MMA and Karate mishaps through the years, etc.)...totally honest. So, I'm sitting in a really nice bar and grill and in walks this ENORMOUS BEAST with the girls head from the pics attatched to it! She says, "Are you Paul?" and I said, "uh...NO!" and got up to leave while she screamed profane insults across the crowd.

The height thing happens quite a bit. I have had a few surprises when meeting for the first time with height and size. Now I try to screen better. As many as I've met I still dread the first time I look at my date. So rare they look better in person.

Don't take it so personal!
Little guys got to do what they have to
to get attention anyway they can...
I just flash my 6-pack abs, and they forget all
about how tall I am!
I wonder if ya flash yours, will they forget about
everything else about you?

Webcams can be very cheap and if they have a pc and are paying for internet service then they can put out the 19.99 for a webcam at wallymart.
I wouldn't get too worked up about the guy, it is bound to happen, in fact, it happens alot more than you might think.

I can relate to the height issue. A number of men I have met listed their heights in their profiles as 5'9" or 5'10". I am 5'7" and almost always as tall or taller than they are. Did they shrink and just not know it? Or is it an ego thing.
Another one is that they lie about being married in their profiles. That has happened several times. I even have it posted in my profile that I am not interested in married men, but still get them anyway. I dunno . . .
