OK i've had it with this waskelly wabbit and any other rodent that thinks they can come and eat my plants. I spent a lot of effort and money this year in my flower beds so that I could enjoy my pretty flowers and THEY WERE NOT intended for Rodents to eat them. I am heading to town and going to purchase something that will wipe out the infestation of the rodents/animals that think they get a free meal from my yard.....

Hope you find something, maybe a cougar or Tiger course the other people might complain about that so how about a cage. Make a pet for Coonie out of it.
Don't you harm that lil wabbet, remember the stink when Obama killed that fly.

I had a rattler on my patio about 3 yrs ago so I called animal control they caught the thing and took it someplace and turned it loose. I been waiting for it to return I now have a hoe,it will be its last trip.

Go to the local pound and adopt a cat, female. I did not realize how many rodents an outdoor cat kills until my
outdoor kitty passed away at age 9. Within a few months, you could barely sleep for all the scuffling in the
walls (my vacation home in the mts) and they were running in the house. Good old Squeaky had really kept them
down, RIP sweetheart, I still miss you.

I love wildlife as much as anyone else - but NOT when they decide to destroy things. There are plenty of other places around here they can go and find their food....like in the wooded lots all around me...Plus that wabbits are suppose to eat carrots not my flowers

The US forest service puts strawberry juice on newly planted trees. Strawberrys are poison to most amimals.

It's against the law to kill a rattler in Arizona. I guess that make me a law-breaker. I just killed another last week. Maybe I should box them up and ship them to amimal control.

My dad raised rabbits when I was younger and actually until just a few years before he passed away. He would butcher them for food when they were big enough. In Iowa the men still often go rabbit hunting as rabbit is really a delicious meat to eat.

Well, I hope you are scared. You are gonna be prosecuted for killing a rabbit Hey, I killed a skunk Gonna kill it's babies too Not telling what else I might kill. Maybe I'll kill a groundhog or two.
Better than killing a poor dog you take from the pound and then take back to be euthanized. Guess that is different? Just don't kill the rabbit!!!!!

Thanks, sometime the old brain has been scrambled so much its easy to get confused.
Cool trap 10's I have a humain one it catches them so you can turn them loose again. Its metal and in the sun they don't last long.
Some are so stupid that as soon as they open their mouth you don't need a sign to tell you how stupid they are.

When are you having the armadillo round up? Some say that is good eating. See plenty along side the road so we may need some Texas Rangers over here to arrest all the cars that keep running over them. They can sure put the hurt on a car.

Oh, by the way, don't let V. P. D*ck on your land with a gun...understand his aim is a bit off.

well durn - can I be prosecuted cause I hit that armadillo - down here in cajun country we cook road kill.....guess I should have a wreck to avoid hitting those critters that run out in front of me....

or maybe when that wabbit chases me in the yard I should just hit it with my cane - it scares me cause I'm afraid I will trip and fall when it gets under my feet. They sure are pesty creatures. I bought me a new cane today too....

You know rabbits carry rabies too and that is a hazard to me and to my poor little coonie - I don't like wild animals running loose in my yard....it's kind of scary that they could attack and give rabies to me or my dog.

I don't take any chances when it comes to that kind of thing - especially living out here in the country like I do. We get all kinds of wild critters here and I won't take the chance of one of them hurting me or my dog. Plus the damn rabbits are eating everyone's vegetable gardens and we need the food we are growing because the economy is so bad and even the government is telling us to grow gardens to supplement our food. Even the white house is growing a garden to supplement their table for food.... Of course i'm the one having to take care of my own garden - I don't have a whole classroom and hired help to make sure mine grows really big and fruitful.

Just do not hit a skunk so watch for anything with white stripes. As they are bouncing under the car the stink is sticking and it takes months and months for the smell to be gone again.

you guys sure have been busy while I was out mowing my yard because the guy that usually does it is sick... If I had something to get rid of those wabbits in my yard i sure would, I have holes all over where they burrowed in this spring to have their babies, deep ones too, now when a riding lawn mower gets stuck in one of those holes with one tire ,it is hell to get out..I pushed and pulled and gunned the engine push up the trottle all the way and no luck, so here I am with my yard almost done and there sits that damn mower in a hole buried up to the thingy that covers the blades.oh,yes the deck... so if anyone wants to go hunting Wabbits over here in Tennessee, come on over, get your guns and have at it...

Someone should look at this and the court cases:

Animals, Property, and the Law - by Gary Lawrence Francione - 1995 - Nature - 349 pages

A man was brought up on charges of shooting his neighbors cat...for one. The cat was not killed. Since the man meant to kill the cat and not wound it, he was not held liable for having committed a crime. If it had been his intention to wound it and cause it suffering, then, he would have been guilty.

As the Miss. law states: If you are shooting an animal maliciously or mischievously, then, you could be prosecuted. But, if an animal has trespassed on your property and is causing damage, you may kill them as long as your intent is to kill them and not wound them. That is the law and is in the legal digest. Shooting also pertains to any domesticated animals that enter your property. You can shoot Fido, too, legally as long as you shoot to kill.

Now, silly threats don't accomplish anything. Just put a tattoo on your head. Right?

So true satin - it is so frustrating to plant all those plants/flowers/food and then go out in the morning and everything is stripped down to a bare stalk. It is not only expensive so far as the amount of water/time/cost of plants but also the fact that now all those veggies/fruit are gone and we have to buy them at the store instead and we've already invested all that money into the ones we have grown ourself. grrrrrrrrrrrrr

actually animal control does nothing here either because they are nuisances and also get inside peoples homes and under their homes and destroy. I had a coon that got under my house one time when I lived in Lafayette and died - OMG that was the worse smell in the world.

OK so here's an update on Mr. Wabbit

I went outside this morning and he was in my flower bed/garden again - I sat down on the grass and tried to have a very mature discussion with him - all he did was flip me off with his ears - so I've tried and that's about all I have to say on having a conversation with a stupid varmint. He doesn't want to listen and so I will have to resort to my other options

No bunny's in the keys, the pythons have eaten all of them. That is not a joke. Released unwanted pet pythons love it here no natural enemys. They just caught one up in Key Largo that was eating cats. But we are over run with iguanas they love hibiscus, they love the red ones. I have shot over 25 this year just in this park not only do they eat the flowers their feces is like tar and is full of salmonella and it will kill dogs if they eat it.

What I have found that works is Scat, a hot pepper (capsaicin) spray. They taste it once and never come back. If the local hardware store doesn't have it, most local and national garden centers do.

Here's an advertisment for a product from Tree World. It's a repellent to keep deer, rabbit, elk, moose, voles, beavers, any of those types away from trees, gardens and flowers.

To everyone telling you to get cats, don't. They can be as distructive in a more expensive way. I have a neighbor that feeds all the stray cats in town. And the raccoons too. They get under the trailers and tear out the insolation and tear off the wraps on the water pipes. My pipes froze one year because of them. I love animals, but this is just plain stupid. Pets aren't allowed in the park, but the owners won't do anything about them. I came home one night after dark and big coon was sitting by my porch. I had to stay in the car till it left and hope it didn't come back out while I was going to the door. They carry rabies here and I'm not comfortable with them on my door step.

Just got back from town - had to do a few errands - got some stuff for my plants that you spray on that is suppose to keep deer rabbit and squirrels away. But we'll see how good it is. Then stopped at our small city hall here.

Suga you said to be careful cause I might could be prosecuted and it sure would not look good for an ex cop to be arrested for even the smallest thing so I stopped and talked to animal control here in our small little village. This is a very small community and we are all like family here. They told me that I could take action against an animal that is a nuisance and destroying personal property. Recommended a bb gun or a pellet gun - and i'm a very good shot - so if this repellent does not work....

Vicki, I'm wanting to make sure you get that Bugs Bunny, so this is what I figure.

Let's say you really want to do in that rabbit, you could get you a box of 20 458 Winchester Magnum 500 grain Triple Shock X-Bullets, lead-free for a close out special of $104.02, normally selling for $129.99, or if you don't want to stop that rabbit in it's tracks you could use an extremely accurate 22 Cal Long Rifle ammo such as the Remington 40 grain, LRN round. A box of 50 is from 52 to 92 bucks or you could settle for a box of 50 hit and miss 22 Cal rounds for 4 to 6 bucks. Ok, now I have the ammo, what am I going to do, point my finger?

I remember as a kid on the farm, my first 22 Cal rifle was a Remington single shot and ammo was $.50 for a box of 50 LRs. Got it brand new for 20 bucks. Yes, it went pop pop pop but really wasn't all that accurate. Then when I made a few dollars, later I bought myself a Browning 22 Cal semi-automatic. Then it was 150 bucks. Today, a Browning goes for 500 and more. The accuracy difference was, with the Browning, I could light wooden matchsticks at 50 feet. The larger the toy, so is the price. I forgot, there are some good Saturday Night Specials that can be picked up also for a reasonable closeout price.

Now getting back to the price of getting rid of a rabbit. It's all what one puts on the value of their property, i.e., flower garden, veggie garden and trees. Yes, Scat is a bit expensive and there may be other products that work too, however, it works for me and I'm quite content in the price because it's proven effective.

Vicki I know what you're going through, I had the same trouble here some years back I bought a live traps. I would catch one or two coons at a time I would take them across the lake and turn them loose in the game wardens yard. But I think them suckers swam back across the lake. So from then on I did not mess with them I did not catch and release. I kill 53 Coons one summer here. They are the most destructive animal there is. And they are a very vicious animal. I caught possums and the neighbors cats and even caught my own dog and he got is a** whipped for eating the bait out of the trap. So don't mess with them kill them if you can, and rabbits are good eating.
