so I was dating this guy for a little more than a month and we talked every day, he got along well with my kids, we liked doing the same things and spending time together.Things were going really well and suddenly he fell off the face of the planet. no contact. what the hell happened?

hott2trot...been there. ex-fiance of 4 years just up and walked out. no way to contact her and no way to find where she moved. total emotional/mental devastation here for about 3 months. In this and similar experiences it is not necessarily another luv tho most of the time it is. In my case it was me competing with family. She left me to be with the ones she missed so much, her daughter & grand kids. It was just the same tho'. Normally adult children talk to their parents a few times a week to few times a month. Daily isn't unusual and that's how it started when the daughter finally got straight from her drug scene...then they became addicted to calling each other and then the grand kids started calling too. This was 12-15 times per day, every day!, long distance! I checked my cell phone records and this daughter was burning up 1200-1400 minutes per month on her cell phone alone! Plus, she has a phone at home... obviously, she had a need and also had every excuse in the world for not having a job. Since she was burning up the cell I assume she was burning up the road too. So, IMHO, people who stray either have someone pulling them down or they do not have the diversions necessary (a job!) to occupy their time when they are not performing the functions of a family or relationship. Staying involved with each other one way or the other 24/7 is what I think it takes. You don't have to be so involved that you're stifled but if you're not that close and that good of friends then someone needs to move on before they get locked in.

Hmmm, he must be with my ex. He fell off the face of the earth about 9 months ago. Has only called once to see how the kids are. He landed in Maine. Hope he stays there.

I don't understand how anyone can go more than a few days without seeing, or talking to their children. I love mine and miss the crap out of them when they are with their mother. I wouldn't know what to do if i couldn't see them for days, that is crazy, I would go crazy.!!LOL. Oh yea, the guy is not worth worring abt, he is a little boy without a pair!!
