CHICAGO (AFP) - Aggressive female antelopes are more likely to get a mate even when they go so far as to charge at the male to stop him from having sex with a rival, a study released Thursday found.
But while the males may be turned on by this behavior the first few times, they eventually get angry and will even lock horns with the females to make them to stop pestering them, according to the study published in Current Biology.
The discovery shows that the common understanding of sexual behavior -- that females are docile and choosey and males are aggressive and eager to mate with anyone -- is too simple for the real world.

I read that report and I am surprised no one has answered you. This is not really my forte but I will play along.
I am a little slow here are you saying you women are like antelopes? Or are you saying antelope behavior mimics human behavior. Possibly that both antelopes and men cheat? Maybe there are a few similarities. I am not being facetious here I have been trying to figure out you women out for 50 years. Sort of (I know some men cheat and some don't but women do too.) Have I missed a point since there are animals that have some very different mating habits, check out the daddy long-legs. And hey, Sally, if no one comes by to rescue you from this inane blurb it can keep you occupied for a minute or two.

my favorite woman warrior in chinese history is mu guiying (not mulan!) from the yang family general story.
she was the daughter of a mountain bandit and she trapped a famous chinese general on the mountain and wouldn't let him free till he promised to marry her, lol. she also became a famous general.

Hadn't seen that study but I believe it implicitly. I LIKE to be pursued and, whether they admit it or not, I think most men do. You are CERTAIN there is interest there; you don't have to guess.

Hmmmm.... being an expert in animal behaviour I'm never surprised at how human and animal behaviour often has many similarities. Granted we have opposable thumbs and higher intelligence but we are still driven by instinct at times and our bodies respond to stimuli that conciously we are not even aware is there (like pheramones for instance).
I think this just goes to prove the old sayings, "The squeaky wheel gets the grease" and "A closed mouth doesn't get fed". Shy women are at a disadvantage because their aggresive counterparts will step right over them to get the man. So ladies, speak up!! You never know where it might get you!!
I have been blessed with the ability to be able to talk to anybody (with a few rare exceptions) and pride myself in making things happen. You have to. Unless you want to sit on the sidelines and watch the world go by you gotta go out there and live it. Grab the bull by his horns and all that good stuff. JMHO

There is nothing wrong with the woman being the aggressore. Alot of men find it to be
a refreshing change. It can be difficult to approach women somtimes...especially if they are out in a group. Nobody wants to get shot down and humiliated in front of a group of people. Or women at the gym have their ipods on. It is impossible to approach some women in different situations. So the aggressive women are greatly appreciated!!

I personally know of three of my best friends who were the pickest guys I know. They use to go to a club and pick every girl apart. Too much of this, not enough of that, so on and so on.
All three of them end up marrying woman that they wouldn't have given them the time of day if they met them out at a club.
The things that all three women had in common was their agressiveness. They didn't wait for a date, they call, asked direction then showed up with a 6 pack in hand and some DVD's.
It worked perfectly for all three...
