many dress like a cowboy but few are. You want to find a cowboy don't go to a country club they will not be there. Instead we will be on a mission better grab your handy newspaper and a phone. Look up the nearest rodeo or horse show and start there, don't look beside the fancy trailers we will have one that looks like JUNK at the back of the lot. And when you see us at the arena we're sitting on the fence, our couch. We're the first to get on that raging bull in the corner and ride him for eight secs land on our feet and wave or crash and be run over by the bull and still get up, unhurt. And don't forget riding a horse day and night checking cattle or branding or whatever needs done, and you know you can find more "cowboys" than you can real cowboys and farmers put together. The one question you must ask yourself though before you settle down with the real ones though is "Am I of my rocker?" because it means long days and longer nights meals that are ready in 5 and gone in 2, running to town for items and they are needed yesterday (Why do you think we send you it is an extreme necessity to get something done today. DO NOT GO SHOPPING FOR ANY REASON.) having to be a taxi at all hours when the spring and fall rush is on. Cancelling date plans because a cow is having trouble having a calf and you must stay there all night till the job is done. And many other "fun" things that come about working the land everyday. I've seen more marriages to men like us fail than make it and that is sad but welcome to the real world whats new.
Best of luck in your search

DAMN liferator, didnt leave anything for anybody else to say!!!! Tahts the way to call it though. I aint no cowboy, just from farm country, and did my share of that!!! Calls in the middle of the night cause cattle got out, or a barns security system is set off and you need to fix the problem.

That's not all a cowboy is...or not a real one, it's also a personality, a state of mind. Cowboys are hard to deal with especially if they rodeo, it's a neverending road trip and they will sell there soul for one more ride. Some anyway. You can't really say you're a country girl and want a cowboy, you have to know that way of life, I had a horse colicing about two hours after I had my son, I left the hospital, set out in the pasture and had to give a banamine shot because no-one else would do it. I've helped sew a mares throat back up and cut off proud flesh when I lived in a place that had one vet in a two hours drive. If you can handle stuff like that(and thats not all the ooey-gooey you might be faced with), you might be ready.
