Let me enlighten you on the whole gym thing: when im at the gym im in a zone. Im there to work out and relax and dont want to be interrupted, by men OR women. I usually dont even talk to people i know. This is my me time, a mini vacation. As for the physique, overly yoked guys are not attractive to me in the least. Most women i know feel the same way. Im sure some women are, but the gym is not the new hot pickup spot. The problem is so many men are agressive and stupid in their methodology that any woman who is good looking is tired of the stares and dumb pick up lines. This is my method and I must say is not the best or only method out there to break the ice. For starters when you first enter a gathering GLANCE at all the individuals that are present, men and women. Remember the men there are your competition and you need to size them up. Ignore the women you really want to talk to and mind your own business for at least fifteen minutes. As you start to relax glance around and see if any women meet your eye, then give them a nice grin, DO NOT STARE OR GIVE THEM A BIG SMILE. Continue to ignore them affording them a occasional GLANCE. If they are interested they will meet your eye and respond, this takes time and patience. Sometimes it takes repeated sightings of these women for their defense mechanisms to break down so they feel comfortable. Remember the good ones are sick of stares, stupid come on lines and men asking for their number. Women key in on someone who is different and this method is indeed different. It's worth the time and self discipline required to do this. This is getting long winded so more on this topic later. Drew. Men skip over the sad and go to mad because of our training and egos. Try to allow yourself to be open to your true feelings about rejection and you will go far. She's got the I-Pod, MP3 or other electronic device cranked up, is ultra-mega focused on the lifeless machine in front (behind, above...)her and any and all attempts by anyone other than maybe staff will be either ignored, met with an icy stare or, at worst, reported to staff as 'harrassment'. Including asking her what time it is. 2)The Weight Loser - She signed up most likely in January as one of her 'New Year's Resolutions', is highly self-conscious about her weight - which is at least 20 lbs. over anybody's limit, usually much higher - and will most likely drop out by April or May. 3)The Teen Athlete - She's there to train for a specific sport or specific event. Ok to approach if you are a teen or are doing the same thing she is for the same reasons. 4)The Gym Groupie - She's there to meet guys allright - but not you. She wants to hook up with the established 'power players' of the gym - meaning owner, staff, instructors or one of the long-time resident body builders who basically live at the gym. She's NOT interested in any 'unestablished' chumps such as fellow worker-outers. Unless (maybe) if they turn out to be millionaires in new BMW's and over 6'2.

No great man, warrior, king, emperor, etc. in history ever accomplished anything on brute force and strength alone...
