Oh yeah. I remember those guys. They used to walk around downtown wearing these long black robes and big multese crosses. I remember some of the phamplets they used to pass out. They would go on to explain that Jesus, Jehoviah, Lucifer, and Satan were all different faces of the same being.
From what I understand, there are 2 movies stars that are into Scientology. Tom Cruiz and John Travolta. L. Ron Hubbard wrote a story in the 50's, supposedly before he wrote his Scientology book. That book was made into a movie, with John Travolta in it, called Battlefield Earth.
That was a very good video article. Thanks. I always had a bad feeling about that group. I do know alot of people who believe in reincarnation, and they would not commit suicide just because they believe they will come back. At least that is what they say.

No this is not a cult it is people who only believe in what they can see and touch. And what science has to give them in answers. More or less they need proof scientifically rather than blind faith or by a book that they can not prove who wrote the words.

Good luck to them.
But they will die without knowing what they were searching for.
That is why there is faith not based on science.
The belief in the unproven.

I don't trust anything that is that kind of secretive. I was a Jehovah's Witness for some years in my youth and I can tell you that they are another brainwashing group. They isolate you from your friends and family. The have you meet very often and only associate with other Witnesses.
When you leave something like this it is with the feeling that you are so unworthy that you might as well chuck it all in. Your hopeless and worthless and beyond help. I was very self destructive for years afterward. And I was only 30 when I left.

I read half of Hubbard’s book until it got to the part of joining the church; I put it down and never picked it back up again. Marry you speak of Jehovah witnesses. I must say that they are slowly… adding something’s back into the bible that they had omitted. I had encountered a watch tower pusher one day, I did enjoy reading them. But when I tried to give him one of my flyers, he refused to accept it. I asked him if God had ever refused him of anything, stumbling over his words in shock, he finely stuttered out no. Are you to be like God? Standing proud he then answered yes. Then why do you refuse me? He mumbled something turned and went into the store to the manager to have me kicked off the premises. I wasn’t kicked off but I was told of the complaint. No harm, no foul. It is sad that some are so blindfolded and brain washed, they won’t accept other opinions with an opened mind, to be able to think for their selves. I prefer a brain cleansing over a brain washing any day. Needless to say, I’ll never read another watch tower again.

I was a Jehovah's Witness and that is what I was saying, they teach that all others that are not Jehovah's witness are false religions and they do it slowly so that you do not realize what is happening. If you question or listen to anything else you are disfellowshipped and no one is allowed to speak to you until and if you are reinstated. That can be a form of torture because you have given up friends and family and all you have left is them and it is devastating to be ignored as if you are not there.

Children there was 7 churches in the Bible all had differant names. You could go to any one of them or you could go to all of them, if you lived back then.Just like now the church we go to is our own choice. No matter what name is over the door.It only matters if they preach the truth. You know why?? (JESUS is the door) and you can't get in any other way.We all must go in that door there is no other way.How do we know we went through that door? Well i knocked and he let me in and i know i have passed from death unto life because i love my sisters and brothers in the Lord!! God bless you all.--Missette

stringsvrs replies: I have read many of your postings sister and you do make many good points known. What Jesus taught us is that door. He taught us with His actions on how to treat those who are not our friends and relatives; and He told us in His words also. What Is most important is to love those who are not your sisters and brothers in the Lord, and to do so with righteous kindness. Jesus said: To do so to one of them is to doing it to me.
I am quite sure that you truly realize this except that it was not very clear in your statement posted above.

It is a cult in the near worst sense of the term. A dangerous cult that has taken in many susceptible people. They target the gulible rich which they then use to promote the cult...

Germany is in the process of banning Scientology, as a religion because after investigating them for years, have determined them not to be a religion, but a cult.
I 100% agree with Germany!!!!!!

Although I disagree wholeheartedly with Scientology, I am also opposed to state intervention or banning of any group engaging in "free speech and association".
As you may know I am against all BELIEF systems. But I do not feel it to be within the purview of governnment to ban anyones beliefs. Soon we might consider burning witches again.
It is the duty of government to be watchful and to inform the populace concerning things that can be harmful. If there is some genuine fraud occuring then the government may have the right to step in to protect the unwilling victim.
Some might consider every form of gambling that takes place in Las Vegas to be a vice or fraud at its core. But does that alone give government the right to protect stupid and willing gamblers from themselves.
Those who look to any BELIEF system for mental and spiritual help are really no different, though the different systems may not prey upon their BELIEVERS in quite the same degree as Scientology. If one thinks Scientology should be banned, maybe the government should ban all BELIEF systems and protect the less discerning from themselves. But then whose duty will it be to determine who the "less discerning" are?
