This is the first time I've visited this area of date hookup. I couldn't resist replying to your question. I believe what men are looking for in women is relative to the maturity of the man and the woman. At different points of one's life priority's change depending the experiences one has. Think about what your priority's were when you were in your 20s. Then again a dozen years later. It's not the same if your honest with yourself. Sex is always important. It should be just as important to the woman. But intimacy during sex is what keeps a man (and I would hope a woman). Intimacy combined with communication over all else. Excluding no areas of a partnership. To state it both honestly and plainly. Most men
(I believe) want someone to share experiences, as well as each others interests. He wants his partner to be classy on his arm in public and a slut in privacy of their bedroom. Crude, but an honest answer.

The question is too broad. There is no "One size fits all" description of what a man wants. Everyone is different Finding a partner is a lot like fishing... You have to use the correct lure, be in the right place, and have a lot of patience. In the end, for me at least, it all boils down to belonging. Not belonging "to" but belonging "with" someone. When I find the woman I belong with it will be a mutual feeling. Then the real work begins...

There are as many answers to this question as there are men. Each of us wants something different. There is no one size fits all. The more important question is what you want in a man. By asking what a man wants in a woman, it sounds like you are willing to change who you are to find/ keep him... don’t ever do that. You are who you are. Be strong in who you are and proud of what you are. Eventually, you’ll find love ...or better yet it will find you.
But if you start acting like a chameleon, changing who you are to suite any guy you fancy, as soon as he finds out you are not who you held yourself out to be, the relationship, for all intents, and purposes is over. Be true to yourself first. I’ve been single for three years now and am exceptionally happy with my life. If I find someone that can add to that and share my life with me, that is great. Only thing I ever ask of a woman is that she is clean and totally honest. Clean is easy to find, totally honest is almost impossible to find. Women lie as a matter of course. It seems it's just in their nature. Maybe defensive but definitely a problem. I know men lie to women too but since I DON'T I expect the same out of my female companion. Of course I had that with my beautiful wife and when she died I thought all women should be just like her....man was I shocked.

From what I've seen most men want the same thing in a woman that most women want in men.
The problem is having to weed through all the ones(men and women) who, regardless of their age, are not yet mature enough to be honest with themselves. If you are not honest with yourself, you will, whether knowingly or not be putting forth a false front.
I haven't neen doing this online thing very long but it doesn't take very long to start spotting red flags. I don't know maybe it's because I am not in a hurry, so I notice discrepancies. A big red flag (to me) is simply the 'what's wrong with them?' instead of 'what am I doing wrong?' attitude.
You only have control of yourself, not the six million men in America, so don't worry about what's wrong with the men, focus on what is right with you. And don't worry about what they want(no offense) learn to vocalize what you want, and when veiwing profiles do so with discernment.
If you remember nothing else remember the old adages,  you've gotta kiss a lot of toads to find prince charming
also go easy on the guy's cause they are finding themselves in the same position.

Well first it all depends on the two people and where the chemistry is. Having sex on the first night is great and I don't think less of the woman and hopefully she doesn't think less of me. Sure sometimes we get burnt and don't see that person again, but better to find out at the beginning of relationship then after both parties have invested lots of time.
As we get older we want to find a partner who is on the same sheet of paper. A partner who enjoys life is independent and at the same time dependent. A partner who speaks up with an opinion not one who just agrees. A person who shares all.
The hardest thing to find is the real person inside not the person who just tries to impress.

Hmm... I've just read through all the posts on this question, but I failed to see one factor mentioned, and it's all-important in terms of a relationship even beginning. All my life I've had no problem making friends with women. Dating them, however, is a completely different story. The old adage is true; nice guys finish last. Many women say they want a man who is kind, considerate, compassionate, understanding and who will listen. When a man does those things, he is automatically relegated to the "nice guy" category, instantly and permanently eliminating him from the list of potential people to date. 
So... what do women want? Women are biologically engineered to be attracted to the "bad guy"... seriously - google it or look it up. When a man is "bad", women feel the excitement of the perceived "danger", or worse, take it as a challenge to "tame" or "redeem" him, all the while hoping they'll fail in the end, because once they've succeeded (if they do), then they lose interest.
What does a man want? Well, it varies, but as a "nice guy" who is constantly suffering from "brother/best friend syndrome", I (and most other nice guys, I believe) want a woman who will accept & appreciate us for who we are, thus allowing us to reciprocate. Pretty simple idea, yet it always ends up being over-complicated. I don't want to be a "bad guy" - it's not in my nature, and I refuse to be something or someone I'm not. 
Everyone keeps talking about honesty, and there it is: an honest answer. Sadly, as many have said before, it's not the correct answer for every man. Nor does every woman only accept the "bad guy", but I'm willing to bet that 95% do. I can only keep trying to find a woman who is in that remaining 5%, and perhaps someday I will...

You’re generalizing about men and women. If we could be labeled in such a way relationships would be far easier, but, since we are all individuals that can’t be done. I have met tons of women who after I got to know them realized they are not what I wanted long term. Does that make me dishonest or unsure of what I want? Not in my world. It’s hard when someone does not choose you but they are being honest and allowing you to move on. The perfect man may be out there for you but he may not show up until you stop looking or at least stop lumping us together.
For what its worth men and women alike are not honest with themselves. The reasons why are countless. But men should more honest and direct and women need to accept reality.

sometimes I think I'd settle for a guy that had a pulse..but those times are very few and way very far in between of my thoughts... If one found perfect person, then they'd have something deep down that's lacking...because there is no such thing as perfect people....

A man wants the same thing that a woman wants. A man has his ideals as to what he wants, and a woman is the same. Along the course of the relationship they end up settling for something close to what they wanted, and at the same time their thoughts on what they wanted change as well. I don't think men and women know what they want. Its basic human thought to want more of whatever they want.
