I was in the middle of writing a new thread when someone tried to "IM" me. It takes a while to connect with someone when you "do" want to chat, so I declined. But I don't want them to think I didn't want to chat at all, just not at that time. So maybe a instead of just "accept" or "decline" you could add a "busy" or "try again later" button to that little pop up.

I think that is a great idea... people would wanna IM me when I was hoping around several forums and its hard to do...so I just turned my IM off...but a busy button would solve the problem...

if you go into your acct and personally disable IM whenever you feel like it...perhaps turn it back on too
