Please read with an open mind good things happen if you read her story as follows: thanks sorprano
Slow Dance
This is a poem
written by a teenager with cancer
She wants to see how many
people get her poem.
It is quite the poem. Please pass it on.
This
poem was written by a terminally ill young girl in a
New York
Hospital .
It was sent
by
a medical doctor - Make sure to read what is in the closing statement
AFTER THE POEM.
SLOW DANCE
Have you ever
watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to
the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a
butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading
night?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so
fast.
Time is short.
The music won't
last.
Do you run through each day
On the
fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the
reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your
bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through
your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so
fast.
Time is short.
The music won't
last.
Ever told your child,
We'll do it
tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see
his
sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good
friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call
and say,"Hi"
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance
so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't
last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You
miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry
through your day,
It is like an unopened
gift....
Thrown away.
Life is not a
race.
Do take it slower
Hear the
music
Before the song is over.

Dear All: PLEASE pass this mail on to everyone you know -
even to those you don't know! It is the request of a special girl who will soon
leave this world due to cancer.
This young girl has 6 months left
to live, and as her dying wish, she wanted to send a letter telling everyone to
live their life to the fullest, since she never will.
She'll
never make it to prom, graduate from high school, or get married and have a
family of her own.
By you sending this to as many people as
possible, you can give her and her family a little hope, because with every name
that this is sent to, The American Cancer Society will donate 3 cents per name
to her treatment and recovery plan. One guy sent this to 500 people! So I know
that we can at least send it to 5 or 6. It's
not even your money, just
your time!
PLEASE PASS ON AS A LAST RE QUEST.

Consider it being sent to all I know. It always amazes me with the grace that the young accepts death of any kind with so much courage!!![](Images/Smiley/rose.gif) ![](Images/Smiley/rose.gif) ![](Images/Smiley/rose.gif)

Forgive me for being the one to burst, or more so Sorprano, try to burst this bubble, yet I have received this poem from numerous people, which all have told a dieing wish, made by some poor soul who is about to pass on, and live life to the max, and love and enjoy every waking moment, for we never know when it might be our last.
I do agree that it is by far, a true and real statement about life, yet passing it on is only going to gain you more junk mail in your email address, than you care to have, I asure you. But coming from a friend, and fellow Jersey boyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, it is a good poem, yes indeed. ![](Images/Smiley/thumbsup.gif)
I donate to my causes, and for research that I believe I know where my money is going, or should I call it, their money now?. Plus, we can all use a little write off, don't we?
Hope this doesn't upset, or betray, what everyone thinks of me up to this point, but honest is the only way you'll ever see me be.
And as Forrest Gump would say, " That's all I got to say bout that."

St. Judes is wonderful, and Red Cross is too, boy scouts sell cookies outside the grocery store i go to, and I give without taking, simply because, not only are they doing something good in soliciting themsleves, yet they are also learning how to raise funds for anything they want to have, or a trip they want to take. My Christmas tree comes from a boy scout troop here in town.
Girls scouts are the same with girl scout cookies. Give and let them make more by not taking the cookies, but dam they are soooooooooo good.
Give when you can, but be careful who you give to. We are in the year 2008 and there lurk amnongst us those who want it for nothing.
Sorprano, the poem was the best I've reveived, and it always touches my heart. thanks for sharing it with us. U da man!![](Images/Smiley/party0006.gif) ![](Images/Smiley/party0006.gif) ![](Images/Smiley/party0006.gif)

Soprano.....you are a good man with a heart of gold. However, I've heard this poem before several years ago. I too have had cancer and been told I have had three months to live. That was with two small children, no house, no car, no insurance, no job and just 2 weeks divorced.....in 1975. I've had two friends die when I and they were 18 of cancer. I've had cancer twice since. My solution instead of sending things in the emails has been: join the American Cancer Society and volunteer your time, join the Red Cross and offer to help any way you can...I teach, get involved in the real world with your heart and time. Believe me, your volunteering time will mean much more monetarily than they would ever get from these emails. You are a wonderful person with so much empathy. You would be a golden nugget in that area. Hugs.
