Lately I am getting bombarded with request from women to chat on Yahoo or MSN.
What are they doing, gathering valid email addresses to sell?
Just curious if any one knows...

Do not enter your email address into "unscrupulous" sites. Some of the scams ask you to go to their site and register to talk to them. Give me a break already! Some want a credit card number for their free site. Yeah, pretty much give them the #1 hand signal as well. Some just try to collect your E-Mail so they can sell it to advertisers. Others are just plain scammers. Beware!

Keeper, can you go to your email account and block any messages from that particular sender? The scam you are describing is one in which they say you have won money for some reason... The lottery, inheritance, or some reason that is totally B.S. They will then request you to send them money or information they can use for later scams. Your best bet is to block them and do not reply. Do not open their E-Mails and especially don't open any of their attachments. Many of these forms of scams are called Nigerian scams. If you'd like to know more, do a Google search and read up.
DON'T EVER SEND MONEY. IN FACT, DON'T SEND THEM ANYTHING. DO NOT TRY TO GET EVEN WITH THEM BECAUSE THEY DO THIS STUFF DAY IN AND DAY OUT. MOST ARE NOT TOO BRIGHT BUT THEY CAN CAUSE YOU HARM.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Lawrence, more than likely. I'd ask them to chat on here for a few first. On another site, I keep getting emails from Russian chicks. Nothing against foreign women; I dated a girl from Colombia once, but I ain't nobody's green card!
Anyway, like dutchboy said, don't give them any info, at least not til you're sure they're legitimate people looking for a date, and not some company trying to sell you insurance or a home loan.
