For me so far they haven't worked but that doesn't me they WON'T work. A relationship is luck and timing and so far the timing and luck hasn't been there for me.

We spend far to much time in front of the computer instead of out meeting people. Shy people like me like the online dating. But not very successful at all. It seems there is a good reason most of the ladies are single and on here. You only learn why after meeting them. Even though I have met some really nice ladies in person from online dating sites. But things just did not work out. No chemistry or other problems. Still this does allow you a greater range of choices and selections. But as with any relationship, those that lie will lie from the start. Most the good women seem to be taken or not interested in a close relationship. Online communications do not allow for an instant response. Or the ability to view her while she is speaking. Body language can tell you a lot. But that is lost online.

Retired Fireman - I think you make some great points. I agree that online dating seems to be just another excuse for the damaged to hide behind.It only seem to delay the pain because like you said for it to work you must meet and once you do all bugs come out for all to see. I believe it will only get worse for the younger people as they loose there ability to interface with people on a one to one level, because the have spent there entire life behind a keyboard and not conversing in person.

no.4 I think online dating is a joke...too many fake a** people on here just using it for a booty call..... there are very few legit people here looking for that special someone.

I personally have had no luck on a multitude of sights or in real life. I just believe it to be my disposition and standards. I am not from KY and for the most part was very shy and a nerd in high school, but I am very open and friendly. I am intelligent and not afraid to speak my mind. I probably come off as pretentious or rude, however this is who I am and if a person is not attracted to me physically I do not even have to talk to them, their body language says it all.

I have met someone special online before and spent two years in a relationship with them. So it is possible to meet someone special online. But it wasn't in a dating site. I think DH and most of these sites are a serious waste of time. Seems a third of the people in here are married. A third are hurt, bitter as hell, and not seriously looking for anything other than a place to chat and vent. The last third are looking for a friend and not a mate. So its pretty much been a waste of time. I've gone back to conventional dating and just come in here now out of curiosity.

I think u hav to b careful because there r alot of wearied people out there but u do hav a good chance of meeting ur true lov . I think i hav and i am so ready for something real in my life . The really good thing about this dating on line is that u get to hav alot of friends too that might not work out as lovers but as a good friend .
