Maybe it is simply my background in english but I find it quite a turn off when Children my own age and even some older then myself murder the english laugage. And I do not mean spelling, just word useage. With all of these new Cell phones and texting and such why are keyboarding skills going down the drain!??! "I think u r hot! no what I meen. txt me bac grl and we'll hook up" I actually recieved that in an e-mail....  Is it really that hard to type out You and Are and Know?!?!?! Talk about a turn off! Anyway... just wondering if this is just me  or if others out there find it puts them off as well. Thanks

When I started on here my daughter printed me a computer slang dictionary, because she got tired of me asking her what everything meant. I agree about spelling as well, and if you are going to post the stupidest thread of the day make sure you spell everything, no need to be stupid and dumb!

I guess I've adapted to it, since most everyone texts me these days... but I still write out my words, hate for them to confuse it with something else. But what turns me off is a fawl mouth... people can't think of a word so they use a cuss word instead, or maybe their vocabulary isn't that big.

Well there is a difference between the slang such as LOL and brb and gtg.. Quick tags are one thing but some of these kids (and yes when I say kids I am refering to most everyone 30 years and under) actually do not know how to type out or write out a whole damned sentance and whats worse is they SPEAK that way in person too!!!

for me i was alwasy around it and with the phones with only keys 1-0 on it it kinda makes it a hassle to spell out the whole thing but with my new phone i have a full keyboard in it so i spell out the whole word now it isent always spelled right but its the whole word

OH....Please..use the English language we were taught...changing our world and trying to adapt..hmmm com-on why do we have to learn Spanish? We were founded and reared on English..why can't they learn English and write, get a driver's license, pass a test if they want to live in our country and earn a living just like us. We pay taxes and have dealt with change but please...don't change the language....sheesh!!!!

Perhaps we should start teaching Short hand in the schools for Texting and then children would be forced to know not only Correct english but short hand abrivations so they would be getting correct grammer from both long hand and short hand typeing.

Online here with maybe a couple of pictures and a short profile the only way to really get a "feel" of what a person is about is by how they express themselves in the forums.
Spelling and grammar count as much as the content and opinions of someone's posts for me anyway. At least if they type in some semblance of English I know what they're saying. If I can't decipher what they mean by what they type I just move on
OK, I'll occasionally poke a bit of fun at them if they're functionally illiterate AND being stupid, I seem to have a bit of a sadistic streak
