So say you have been emailing/IMing with someone for a while and you're ready to move on to the talking-on-the-phone-phase. Do you do well on the phone? Are you able to carry a conversation without awkward pauses? Are you able to think on your feet and be as fun on the phone as you are in your posts? Or do you prefer the emails/posts/IMs, where you have more time to formulate your responses?

Sherri, you n' me both, sister! I won't even talk to my family unless I absolutely have to.

But I do just fine on the phone. I'm able to think on my feet and keep a conversation going. But if a man can't, I'm probably not going to be very compatible with him.

Kink: Okay, pie hole. Why so grouchity lately, sweetie?

I think over-the-phone is soooo much better than just emailing...Of course, if I give my phone number...that usually means I am interested in that person. Yes, I am great on the phone...but prefer to talk when my kiddos r in the bed. Of course, face-2-face is even better. In my limited eXXXperience, face-2-face was much better!

I am the same way. The phone conversations are usually a pretty good indicator of how a convo on a date would go.

I prefer the phone phase over the rest.
I'm willing to email for a short bit.
I don't care much for im'ing though, but
I have did it.

I am completely myself on the phone.
Very much like I am in person, with
the exception that in person I am a
bit shy at first..depending on the
person I usually relax quite quickly,
within 30 minutes, and I'm able to be
myself completely.

I can hold a conversation about almost
anything.

Now if someone would just email me.....

My ability to communicate on the phone depends on their sobriety level...and sometimes mine.

I can hold my own, but, I don't have to dominate a phone call, nor, do I enjoy being talked at,..but honestly, it's the same as conversing here, if it's a conversation, I can converse, if we're just 'shooting the shit', I can do that as well.

I'm comfortable doing both. Sometimes it's just easier to do one over the other. I'm not a huge phone person, but you can find out more about a person in a phone call.

im not much of a talker on the phone in the beginning. i IM and email for a bit and then say let's meet......and then if we meet and all goes well, then i graduate to the phone.

too many times i got wrapped up on the phone too soon and then when it came time to meet, was disappointed in some way. i just think the physical meet is just as important in getting to know them and i dont like to break hearts.....really, i dont

I don't mind having a 15-20 minute phone conversation. But I don't like having long phone conversations. Because both people can often run out of things to talk about.
