I go to the local senior center to get books...they are free. I also dropp off the books I have read. I put my initial on the bottom so I can quickly see if it's my book or not. The last book I read and the one I am currently reading are books I've read before. But, it's not unusual for me to go through 4-5 books a week. Libraries are also a good place to get books. I picked up 8 today for 50 cents each...and I know I haven't read these!

I am reading "The Dome" by Stephen King right now - I got a Sony E-Reader for Christmas and am enjoying it very much. My daughter and son got it for me for Christmas so she downloads books for me. My wish list is big on the account Not sure about this book - just started it - I'm not usually a big Stephen King fan but we'll see if I like it.

Have read The Knight, The Pawn, and The Rook - enjoyed them all. Just finished The Silent Man by Alex Berenson - good read. Just started God Is An Englishman by R. F. Delderfield. The caption on the front of the book read: A book to get lost in!! This is just the kind of book I enjoy and am enjoying it a lot so far! As you can see from all this, I don't get much else done! But as I have been snowed in three successive weekends and much of the weekdays in between, am sure glad I have had the books!!!

Another Kindle owner here and love it! Currently reading "Protect and Defend" by Richard North Patterson upon the recommendation of my brother ... and will be reading the Steve James series because of recommendations here.
Chickadee, there are free downloads on Amazaon's Kindle Store.

Just got 6 new books on my SOny Reader so it's time to go read....will let you know more about "The Dome" - it seems okay but just does not grip me like some books do - but then Stephen King is not my favorite kind of reading either.

Oh dear, I didn't think of the #@%#@ Book Clubs.
Well, in the privacy of my own home, in my car waiting for my grandson to come of out school, at the coffee shop, and in the doctor's waiting room, I have been reading Richard North Patterson's Protect and Defend on my Kindle.
I recommend it as a commentary on today's Washington D.C. culture and a look at the legislative, executive, and judicial roles in our government. The author did some thorough research but definitely put his viewpoint in the story. An excellent writer that makes the story flow evenly in the transitions and the characters easily remembered.

Reading 'The Girl Who Played With Fire' along with a few others. It is very good - have read another, 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo', by the same author - don't remember his name at the moment - a Swedish author who died not long ago. The book I am reading now continues the story of the girl in the first book. Most interesting!

I finished the two James Patterson books and am now into "Negotiating the Therapeutic
Alliance...a Relational Treatment Guide". I know, over everyone's head. Gotta keep up with what's going on in my field.

My neighbor gave me his entire collection of James Patterson books - about 25 of them. I started reading them early last week and I have 6 done. Obviously, I'm not doing anything else but reading.

What a treat!!! I remember when I was around 10yrs old, someone gave my grandmother a box of old Reader's Digest magazines (this was before they were full of advertising) and I spent a lot of my summer lying on a quilt under a huge poplar tree in the backyard reading them!!! I've always read everything I can get my hands on since I learned how to read!!

Hello, I just wandered in.
I bought 18 or 20 Janet Evanovich books on eBay. She's the only author who makes me laugh out loud. It's been a cold winter in the Atlanta area, so I've been into the books for three weeks now.
I hate winter.

Oh, Stephanie Plum is one of the most funny characters in the mystery genre. Enjoy! I laugh out loud too ... especially at some of Stephanie's grandmother's antics.
