Some of you still do not agree with interracial dating. If that is how you feel, then who am I to bash you for that ? That is just your opinion and you are entitled to it.
However, I feel that, although racism is still plaguing America, the future is looking a little brighter. At least its looking that way over here in Los Angeles. I hang out in the Santa Monica beach area a great deal. Recently, I have seen many blends of different types. Ive seen the most common blend of white and black. But I have also seen more blends of asian and white, latin and black, so on and so on. I have even started seeing more black women date interracially, when there was a large population of them that absolutely disapproved of it. That is the biggest change that I have noticed here in Los Angeles. Not to say that it doesnt happen anywhere else, because Im sure it does. I think its great !
It is quite interesting to see and I hope it continues. I feel that with the rising of this, some of the racial issues that plague us, will begin to fade. The whole reason why people still disapprove is because they hold on to old ways that were against it.
Some people disagree because they dont want their particular group to fade away. They hold on to evil of the past.
I have love for all people and it brings joy to me, to see this increase. Especially in times of negative ideas here in our home, the U.S.
I know that with the recent tensions flaring up in certain parts of our country, change seems too far away. But I feel that interracial dating is no longer just a curiousity, the way it may have been in the past. There is genuine love growing amongst us, no matter what cultural background.
Change is coming ! The racial issues will die off. Even if it takes until the year 2025 or more.
If you dont believe that...then take a look at this year's presidential election. If you were to go back to the year 1920 ( when women first started voting ), and told those people that in 2008, there would be a female running for president.....everyone in that generation would look at you like you were insane. The men of that era would have been offended by such comments. "A woman running for president will never be allowed and will never happen" the men would probably say in 1920.
Now, we live in a time when a woman may run the country. THATS A CHANGE THAT NO ONE THOUGHT WOULD HAPPEN.
THE SAME CHANGE CAN HAPPEN FOR RACIAL ISSUES.
So that is why I feel....that with the growth of interracial dating....the tension that is still between us....will eventually disappear forever !
I may not be here to see it COMPLETELY GO AWAY, but anything is possible.

I say to each his / her own. Its hard enough in this world to find someone that you are compatible with, love, respect, trust, fall in love with, and want to be together, and if you find that with Anyone be it same race or different, more power to you. Good Luck to you.

Yes it is happening everywhere, more and more mixed couples. When I divorced I thought about the prospect of being asked out by someone out of my race and what would I do. Well I'd do what I do if a white man ask...depends upon the individual. I did date a black man, my family was accepting but others I knew still go on about it. I have no regret, he was a very nice person. Do I see myself with an asian or hispanic? No, I'm not attracted to them but I'd never be out and out disrespectful to them. Everyone has feelings. This is a good topic, glad you brought it up.

i agree with it 100%...its pretty big here in mn.also...i had a freind of mine kind of blow me away today...been chattin with him a long time..then out of the blue he sends me these horrible raciest commercials n comics...told him it was totally WRONG..N I DID NOT APPRECIATE IT...never heard back from him....oh hes not from this site-or i would have made his KKK LOVIN ASS PUBLIC...

If I loved someone, it wouldn't matter the color of the skin. And anyone, no matter the color of their skin, is worthy of love from anyone.
I could certainly see myself dating a person of another color. I have been attracted to people of other skin colors because of their personality. Skin color is a minor issue. I just don't get this whole "interracial" thing. Love is love. People are people. Skin color is such a minor detail.
I think "interracial" dating is just great if the motives are right.

i have mo problem with it it is up to each indevidual, i feel that as long as people devide themseles up into different races in america such as african american, hispanic american, asian american than there is always going to be racism until we can see ourselves as just americans we will be devided and have proplems me im just just an american nothing else

a lot of people dont understand that alot of this countrys issues still come from being part of England at one time.1920 wasnt that long ago and wasnt too far away from our independance.We are still one of the youngest countries in this world and we are changing every 25 years or so.Change doesnt happen over nite.I would love to see all the hatred and racial issues go away,but they never will..maybe in a few hundred years.South Africa is much older then us and they still have racial issues.All of Africa does.It will never happen as long as we have all these hip hop and rap artists singing about how bad the white man is.So before anyone can say lets stop the racial issues..you need to police your own race and thier issues.Now you think I am a racist.thats not true.My best freind is black and I work for him part time cooking at certain partys at his club.he feels the same as I do about his daughters dating outside of there race.But i see people for what they are .There has been enough threads about this on here and Im getting tired of it.But I have to put my worthless 2 cents in..Bock

For chrissake - if I met someone who I was compatible with, and they with me, the LAST thing I'd be concerned about is his racial background. I've dated black men, hispanic men, asian men, biracial men and caucasian men. The reasons things didn't work out with each of them had nothing to do with race. My family is very bigoted, but I've never put much stock in what they think. Some of your answers are very patronizing "my best friend is black" puhlease. I'm comfortable going into anyone's home who invites me, and would welcome them into my home, no holds barred. It's what's inside that counts. Do you have comparable values and morals? Common interests? Don't close yourself off to meeting the love of your life just because they look a little different than you on the outside.
Wouldn't it be interesting to be blind and not see skin color? Then we would all judge people strictly based on what we learn about them from talking about things that matter to us.
