Being new to the single life has been a learning experience. I don't know if I'm typical but the first healing was realizing that I was worthy of having a good life and not a failure. Even though my divorce was a result of her (evil hiss in the background) cheating I had guilt feelings at first because I must have failed her and that caused her to start cheating.
Thank God for friends that got me out of that thinking. They finally convienced me that I was a good fellow and a valued friend. Once I got through that I went through the period of, I can't do anything in public as a single since everyone will know that no one wants me. I still won't go out and eat at a restraunt alone or go to the movie by myself but I'm working on that.
I'm now at peace with being single and not feeling like a failure at all. So I'm ready to get my best Grrrrrrrrr on and start living my dreams again.
Anyone else want to share experiences?

a cheater is a cheater, it has nothing to do with the spouse, it has to do with respect for your body and for your spouse, being single has ups and downs but most things in life do . couples need to communicate more, be honest, i would rather hear from my spouse thier unhappy then to hear from the person they been sleeping around with. im glad your getting back out into the dating world, it will have its ups and downs also but in the end if you really want a good person, thats possible. best of luck

OP, thanks for the great post.
Going out alone gets easier each time that you do it. I have been divorced over ten years. I decided along time ago, that I would miss out on alot of things if I wouldn't go alone. I have gone to nice restaurants, the movies, art exhibits, even concerts alone. I have never been made to feel uncomfortable in doing so by other people. I never felt like someone was "staring" at me.
