I have a friend whose daughter is in Reading Hospital and Medical Center Room 208
Sixth Avenue and Spruce Street West Reading, Pa. 19611
The insurance company says that they have to leave today and yet she is only 25 weeks pregnant and can go into birth without certain med given only in the hospital. The doctor says she has to stay, but the insurance company says they must leave today! This has been a special birth circumstance and I just can't believe an insurance company will o-k everything up to and not include all she needs to get her to term.
Please someone help! I believe only a lawyer can help her now, so please make it possible for somone to get this message NOW!

sorry i cant help with the lawyer but I dont think the insurance co can make her leave, they can refuse to pay and then later on a lawyer can work that out. Tell her not to leave. My sister is a lawyer but not that type.

Hi,
I also feel that the Ins. Co. can not make her leave. Maybe have a family member call the Ins. Co. and ask to talk to a supervisor and explain the problem and see if there is a change in their position. There is also the PA Ins. Commissioner call the office and see what advise they can give you. Also some of the TV stations have consumer help, where they run a story about the problem and try to help the person. Do not forget the state and federal Senators and House members....... Also when talking to the people get a name or an employe number for future references....... When it come to a child or an unborn child I will bet you will see many of the above sources come to her aid.

Thank you sooooo much for all the help! For now it is fine, but in the future I'll remember to use the advice. I should have known that the MD would have the last word and that it would hold up. It was just that on Sunday, well you know and I was afraid they would leave. I knew they couldn't do that, but sometimes it feels like insurance companies rule! Thank you again!

A hospitsl cannot make a patient leave becuz they cannot if it it is a true life or death situation.I have been in & out of them most of my life so I know my way around a little.If they try (the hospital) tries to make her leave she can file a discrimination suit.Ask to talk with the hospital's patient advocate,That is what they do.Assist those who need help!
