I must say I've had 2 relationships from internet dating sites. One for 3 yrs, and the last for 4 yrs. along the way, or since my last ended a year and a half ago, I've met a few others and have remained friends with a some. though we do email each other, they come far and wide apart. most times about once a month, and then, it is forwarding something to each other. mostly jokes.

Duh forgot one more from pleantyoffish.
Funny story there. We met to have coffee and come to find out we both live in the same apt. complex. We decided we need to stick our heads out the door more often. Now he is a dear friend. We didn't have the chemistry for more. Just a great friend I can rely on.

Only 1 out of a dozen i have met in person that i keep in touch with - actually he's my current spark, been seeing each other regularly for 3 months. the rest i ran like hell after meeting.

I met one who is a Captain in the army, and right after we saw each other for the third time he was shipped off to Iraq....I still send him monthly Care Packages. We had a ball through email and IM's discussing the Outback Bowl, before and after, in Tampa two weeks ago, since he is a TN grad and I am a WI grad.

Wanted to add that the eight that I met in person were all from DH but none ever posted in the forums except for Good when I told him I did. The others were either too young for the 50+ group or didn't care for forums. Two were relationships that lived a great distance from me, while others were very good dates with lots of laughter and great friends even now.

As far as meeting online, I've only met a few in person. Unfortunately, none have kept in touch with me.

When I was on Match..I am not sure of the exact number..but I would guess it to be around 30..over a three year span. Most where just one time meetings...however I am very good friends with two. From this site, I have met 2...one is now blocked, because he was not truthful about his age, and basically was a total jerk. The other..we both agreed that it would be best to keep the relationship at the friendship level.

Not one time lunches or dinners, because they lied on profile or when talking to me.
I have meet 6 or 7 from DHU over the few years. Most out of State, from as far North as far as Mi. and south as far as Calf. Very nice people, but something seem to be missing one of us would not have been happy together as mates , but could be good friends.
