Would you have divorced anyway? Has it been worth it to be out of a bad relationship? Were you the initiator or the victim who didn't want the divorce? If you could go back would you?
While getting him out of my life was the best thing that could ever happen to me, I miss the innocents of not knowing what post divorce is like. I've had some great opportunities and chances that I would have never gotten with him holding me back. I still wish that I could somehow not know the feeling I know now and still be single.

Based on just the scenario you give, I wouldn't go back for anything, and am glad it ended as soon as it did. I wasn't the initiator, but I didn't stand in his way, or try to save it. I was relieved.
At least I got a daughter out of it.

Me either. I did get two daughters but I've often felt guilty for not choosing a better choice of father materail for my children.

If I kwen now what I did then------------- I would still have married and done the same thing that caused us to go separate ways. It was in her best interests and probably would have done it sooner. The ex is still a trusted and valued friend.

I have no regrets for getting married and/or getting divorced. I became a better person, figured out more of what I want by being involved and then separating from that involvement. It was a great learning experience overall.

I would never second guess my decision. I have learned a great life lesson plus I have a wonderful daughter and my ex is one of my best friends so I guess in the end it worked out for the best.

I wouldn't marry him if I had it to do over. I would have gone to school or the military and then gotten married. Hopefully I would have matured enough to choose a better type.

If I knew then what I know now....I'da never married her.
I have to agree with this comment. Heck I wouldn't have even dated her to start with. I would have looked over at that other guy and said, "Enjoy the movie with her."
Its how we meet. We were standing in a line and this guy beside her asked her to the Movies. She looked at him and said, "Hold that thought." Then she looked at me and asked, "Would you take me to the movies?" I said "Sure." She turned to the other guy and replied, "Sorry I have a date."
That should have told me right off the bat to run.
I was a victim of her cheating ways and I initiated the divorce. I think I would have probably ended up with a lot better woman.

I'd still have married him, but I think I'd have ended it WAY sooner. It really wasn't that healthy for me or for my son, but we're both stronger for it, and he's now a better dad to my son for it.

I would not change anything. I am stronger and smarter because of my marriage and I am able to face the challenges life bring me. Is it easy hell no but I can do it and I believe their is someone out there for me. Not to mention I have two amazing kids because I married him.

It was 38 years, and I wish I had raised my children myself. The atmospher was pretty bad while they were growing up.
I tell young people not to stay in a bad relationship for there childrens sake.

I would have stayed with him. He was sick, but could have gotten better, and I could have helped him get better, get the help he needed. All he had to do was surrender to the fact he was sick. After all, nobody gets better if they don't first admit they have a problem. We could have then worked it out, gone on from there. I am over him, don't get me wrong-he will just always have a place in my heart.

You couldn't have made him get the help he needed unless he wanted it. SO staying might not have worked.
