hi its cherry ; im just checking in and all i see on my mail is a bunch of guys who only "winked" at me . not the first time either. i feel a little let down by it i must say. now there is a great time for a wink and it can get my attention at times. like at the 7-11 or across the room at a party.... or when im in a relationship and he "gives me that wink" out of no where , i think its really kinda sexy and flirty i actually get a little weak at the knees yumm yuum hee hee hee grrrrowl (: but as a first way to get my attention on a dating site?????? hhmmmmm i feel a ittle rushed and passed by. so wrtie me if you want me or at least say hi and give me some kind of clue as to what kind of guy you may be. besides it makes me feel special and i like that. a great day to all; ive got to go to work now

Cherry..I get lots of winks too. It doesn't bother me so much initially because I see it as kind of an icebreaker. I guess everyone has their own set of dh etiquette. My interpretation of the wink is "hey there, I might be interested in getting to know you...wink back if you're interested" but....apparently this is not standard interpretation because frequently I wink back and then never hear from them again! That, I don't get!

I send and get winks but I always at least try to say Hi! A lot of people are paranoid about winks, I like them. Lots of people are still not sure about these online sites also. Relax and enjoy the site. Everybody here is very friendly, we have a few that will annoy you, don't waste your keystrokes on 'em. It just fuels the BS, if you know what I mean. Wink, Wink... very nice profile BTW... true Virgo writing like that... lol

Personally, I like the wink, but only part of the time. I like to get a wink from a girl, because, lets face it, girls make things a lot sexier than guys. but if I'm going to make contact with someone, I like to send the email. I like to tell them a small bit about myself and ask for return info.

When I receive a wink I check the profile first before responding, sometimes, by what I read there, I may ignore the wink as to not encourage any further contact.

First i just went to nararators profile. Between the bike and the shark alone i would have emailed you to let you know i sure as hell was interested, but like most other gals on here, your too far away. Thier is someone else posting on this very topic that i have already winked at, and sent an email, yet to hear a response. So how do i feel?
Im caught between two worlds. In the beginning when i got a wink, id email back with a polite message saying thanks, but.......and it would be nice. But after a while even that felt difficult to do, so on occasion like Shilosmom does, i dont offer a response. To me it makes me feel like i lack courtesy. Im not sure what the right thing to do is, or if there is a happy medium, or a comfortable way to please both.

i get alot of winks and i also reply with winks and email them and tell them thanks... winks dont bother me and like kenny said its a way of someone showing interest.

I always wink first to see if the person even finds me acceptable.
I do the same thing when in person;
I study eye contact before imposing myself on the person by an uninvited conversation.
Unfortunately, I am so shy that inviting eye contact may not move me to approach a girl.
I check my winks to see if they are immediately deleted. An immediately deleted wink tells me not to bother the poor girl with my stupid conversations.
Everyone is different, right?

thats not always true. Reggie you sent me a wink once. I delete all my winks after some point. I just forget to get back to ppl sometimes.

Well, I like the winks. It gives you a chance to look at their profile and if you wish you can email them. I would much rather give someone a quick wink, and than if they don't respond I haven't wasted my time emailing them.

I'm not real fond of the winks.. unless they follow up on that wink! To me..I feel like they are just going down the list and sending out winks to every girl to see who will respond back
