This will be our last float of the season. So why stay home alone?  We chose Labor Day weekend hoping that it will not be as hot! So come join us for a fabulous 3 day weekend!
We will be floating on Sunday and hanging out in the water near the campground otherwise. All of the canoes are the same price. You will have to call to reserve your canoe. Rafts are also available. If you would like to share a raft, please post so that others can offer to share a raft with you. I have reserved camping space for several but I need you to sign up so I can confirm how many are coming. When you call to reserve your canoe or arrive at the campground, tell them you are with the singles group so they can direct you to our campsite.
TRIP Length-4,8, or 12 mile
ALUMINUM or plastic canoes-$35
KAYAKS-@25
RAFTS-$100
•Trips begin at approx. 8:30 am and will be put out until approx. 1 pm.
•Price is for two people per canoe, additional person, $15 each.
•Large Rafts are 6 person maximum. NO pets allowed in rafts. NO fishing allowed in rafts.
•Lost or Broken paddles - $20 • Lost life jackets - $10
•NO Glass containers of any kind on the river or in camp.
•You MUST have one lifejacket per person in each canoe (this is included in the rental price).
DISCOUNTS
Rental of 20 or more canoes, Call for pricing
CAMPING
Tent $7 per person, per night; $8 per person if camped on riverfront. No tents or RV's are provided. Fee is for campground space only!
Pop-Ups $20 - 2 people per pop-up, $8 for each additional person per night
RVs/Campers $25 - 2 people per RV/camper, $8 for each additional person per night
•Camping fees include use of water and electric where available; also use of bathhouse with shower facilities.
We will be having our community dinner on Saturday evening since everyone is usually too tired to cook or eat much after a day on the river. So please let me know wht you will be bringing so everyone doesnt bring the same thing! We need at least a couple of good sized grills to cook on. If you prefer not to participate in community meals, that is fine too. Just more fun if we cook and eat together.
So bring your tents, chairs, coolers and food and lets make a weekend of it. I will be there early Saturday!. We will be camping Sat and Sun. and canoeing early Sun. If you like to stay and canoe Mon, you are more than welcome to.
Quiet hours: midnight to 7 am
No loud radios, talking or other loud noises
No dirt bikes or ATVs
No firearms or fireworks allowed
Do do cut or mar trees
No glass containers allowed
A night watchman is on duty Friday and Saturday nights. Late arrivals will check with him and please set up camp as quickly and quietly as possible.
Driving Directions...
From Highway 71 (North or South) take exit "Highway H", turn left on H, go 1/2 mile to a stop sign, turn left. Pass over the Elk River Bridge and turn left at the stop light. You will see Kozy Kamp in front of you!

It definitely sounds like fun. But, a couple of questions,k?
Sorry, I'm slow,  duh, lol. Are you planning on arriving friday, camping friday & sat nights, floating Saturday, with an option for Sunday morning as well? Or were you planning on arriving, and floating sat, and camping sat & sund nights?
I just wasn't quite clear about the schedule.
Time's approaching, so it's time to start crossing t's & dotting the i's, and fiquring out just where I'll be floating & camping that weekend.
Also, I presume no one would object if I brought my own kayak, and either had cozy camp shuttle it for me, or did a shuttle with someone else who also had their own boat?

You pay for your canoe and camping when you check in at the campground. I am arriving early Sat morning./ We will hang around the campground, play in the water, get to know each other, get everyoine set up & such. We will be canoeing around 9:30 or so Sun morning and anyone who wants can canoe Sun or if they arrive Fri, they can canoe Sat if they choose to.

I could be one of those who brings my own boat, and a dog to go in it. Would this be a dog friendly crowd and campground?
The eleven point river is supposed to be good during the dry season, due to lots of springs, and Greer spring.

Yeah, the eleven point is nice... been a long time but I did float it. Definitely a lot of springs, and they are certainly cold, heheh. Especially diving into one on a 95 degree day, I think I went into shock for awhile there...  .
I hate to say it, but it looks like I might not make it. I'm gonna try, and y'all can still count me as a "maybe", but there's too much going on right now to know for sure. I should know around the 30th or 31st. You know how it is, family always comes first, even when they aren't exactly clear about when things are supposed to go down.

I have a 12 x 16 tent and would like a riverside space if there are any left  ; w electricity ???? I will be bringing baked beans in a big crock pot for sure and possibly a cake for the dinner Sat. Will be there about noon Sat.

My groupe went camping and had meetings. I am not allowed to say you where there , or a member. But i am allowed to say I was there. And a member . AA Worked for me for 16 years. And we had a great time. We also got togeather and cooked severail main meals. Some brought 4 wheelers, some brought boats. Fun was had by all who attended. At devils Elbow, Mo.

I just got back from floating the Black River(750 miles) a couple of hours ago, so I am SOOO out've touch with whatever's happening in the world, but I'm still hoping to make it this coming weekend.
However, since they're not shuttling private boats on this trip, I'm a bit unsure about what kind of boat to reserve. Do I reserve a single kayak, or a tandem canoe? Hmm, do ya suppose that might be why I'm signed up on a singles website, duh?
I'm reluctant to reserve a tandem canoe, if it's just me in it. All that extra cargo space isn't much use if the shiney side's up, and I'm swimming along, watching all my beer & lunch, just floating down the river, lol.
Any thought's or suggestions?
Any volunteers out there to be a lookout/navigator/beer tender/and defender of the fleet?
Be advised, you'd be responsible for repelling boarders with my high powered water canon, and assisting when we shift into "RAMMING SPEED"! Other duties would include, "making me look good", lol, delivering fresh beers now n then to the captain, and just laying back, and soaking up some sun.
Heading back out've town in a couple of hours (Lawrence & KC this time), but I'll be checking back by Wed for sure.

Well, it's official... I'm out, unfortunately. Have some family stuff to take care of and nearly forgot a friends birthday party this weekend (oops, heh). It's too bad, I know I would have enjoyed it, but I do plan on getting out and doing more camping type stuff this fall... maybe there will be something else to do later. Still need to reserve a spot & a boat today, but don't expect that to be an issue.
I'm hoping to head down tomorrow, and set up my little homestead a bit early, and possibly float on Sat as well as Sunday.
Is anyone else interested in tubing, instead of kayaking or canoeing?
I've only tubed once, but given the low water, and nice weather forcasted, it should be near perfect conditions for it.
Any tips on hauling along a few cold drinks on a tube?
Also, is anyone interested (besides me), in tubing the Big Sugar river Sat?
I'm definitely planning on reserving a canoe for Sunday, so that'll be one extra, free seat available for any needy hitch hikers. If no one wants it, I may be floating downstream backwards,  KABOOM!
Also, I'll be bringing a couple of extra packages of smoked brats, buns, and huge plate of brownies(sorry, no special additives), provided they survive the drive down, lol.
I'll be heating up my George Foreman to cook on, so anyone else wanting to use it at the same time is sure welcome.
