The Cuckoo's Nest was here, in Salem, Oregon. The film was shot on the grounds of the Oregon State Hospital...the booby hatch. I used to work there. It has been torn down now. Nurse Ratchett was based on an actual nurse who worked there. I dated her a few times. That was interesting. The forums are interesting, too. Not as interesting as Nurse R., and The Nest...but interesting.

It depends where I am on my Manstrel cycle.

Enjoy the show while it lasts. Someday I will (maybe) be employed again and all of this creative energy will be directed to something even more of a contribution to society.

It's interesting to read people oponien about some of the subjects.

I agree.I wish some of the female posters would live closer, would very much enjoy their company..
Hell, there are some guys I would have a beer..err....(ice tea for me) with.

They are fun and informative. Not so much about the topics, although there are occasionally some very good responses, but more about the person. And if you find someone's comments matching yours, it's also a good way to introduce yourself to them and open a dialogue.
Conversely...

No matte rwhat anyone posts you don't totally know their real personality.

Me personally I'm sick of this site and I'm only ehre until I decide what new sites to make to use my forum licenses on. My current ones have not become popular, so thinking of ideas for new ones. Still leaning towards a site similar to this one, but then again I'm so bored with this type of site.

I guess I'm a realist.

I have seen so many people use these boards as their circle of friends. So when they've had a rotten couple of days it can surface in their posts. Then it gets back to normal. With all the regular posters here, we are going to have a few raw days through out the week.

I'm not going to think that due to a touchy subject or snappy comment that someone is showing their true colors. It's the same as trying to get emotions or feelings through a text message.

Don't get me wrong, there are a few "flaming" asshats out there, but most of them always have been and always will be asshats.

I agree with this. I actually laugh whenever I read the "seeing their true colors" come out comments. People are people and they all SHOULD have versatile personalities that react differently to different circumstances...even behind the scene circumstances that we don't know about.

There's a couple that smile in your face and talk alot of bullshit, but one doesn't really need them to go to the task of "coming unglued", to see their "true colors", it's always showing

They are more entertaining than the USA, LMN, and SyFy channels all rolled into one.

The thing about the "moment of truth?" It's a bit disappointing when you follow the threads and in your mind, certain ones earn your respect, as much as is possible with strangers you've never met. Then they come off posting something that shows they are not what you thought they were at all. Yep! Those pesky true colors always come through, eventually.

Its not often I agree with Horace but on this occasion I do because:

There are a few here, and one in particular; that according to many of his posts that I have read

He has been a police officer and there is nothing that he hasn't seen specifically related to murders and he is an expert in DNA matching

He has studied psychology and recognizes sociopaths instantly

He is a Le Cordon Bleu Chef and no one knows any better

He is an expert in Sexology as he advises women how to and what not to and tells people how they are gay and they don't know it themselves.

He knows all about politics and apparently he is familiar with all and sundry of conspiracy theories

He is a guru in real estate and predicts the future of the economy better than Greenspan did/didn't

and he runs every one down totally in a derogatory manner male and female.

Yes we do have some jack of all trades and master of none in here their services are also free.
