Dustin...JMHO...but I hate the restrictions on the groups..for example..pkk had a birthday party there today, and I couldnt even go say happy happy...cuz I blocked from posting!
and the 40 something group? Well, I read a post from a 39 year old in the 30's group and couldnt post to him...bleah. and he lived in my state!
Yeah, I can post personal emails...and did. But its sooo restrictive!
Thats all...
Other than that things are going great!

I have always said that the groups should have some overlap, maybe even 5 years, so that anyone from 25 to 45 should be able to post in the 30s group. Perhaps the same fuzzy matching algorithm that is used to allow winks or emails to be sent.
Consider a person who is 39 and just turned 40. The people they have been talking with are suddenly no longer available. Better to allow them to gradually wean themselves from one group and move into the other, posting in both at the same time.

I agree too, there should be a little overlap of 5 years both ways. I seldom use the groups cos of the age restriction The groups is a good idea. It leaves people to debate with people of a similar age but in reality a 39 year old cant debate with a 41 year old. But the intentions of the original idea is good. Its all good!!!

I went ahead and put a +/- 2 years on it. So if you are 48 you can post in the 50+, if you are 31 you can post in the 20's, etc.

It's a start.....but, my thought when I first saw the age groups was that those in a similar age "bracket" would have certain things in common. It doesn't have to be for those who think alike, but why would a retired person want to post about having to get up and go to work daily, except to encourage the younger ones that they, too will, hopefully, retire some day.
Actually, those outside of a particular age group COULD be very helpful to the others. I just hate to see too much restriction. (What about one age group dating someone from another age group....there is some very important info that can be gained from partaking in both groups.)
More of my thoughts....looks like when I have the time to think....I come up with thoughts.
They may not all be great, but when I put them out there, anyone can decide for themselves.
Fondly,
