As for "clingy"....some people feel they have to have their "space"....which is fine....to a point....but if you need so much space that you're neglecting your partner than you shouldn't be in a "relationship"....JMO... Being a (little) jealous from time to time is one thing and might even show you care but it can get to be TOO much pretty easily, maybe that is where you are having problems? Clingy... that is great (when the time is right) but it can also be overdone. I would say, take a look at yourself, the timing of when you choose to act clingy and see if there is not a pattern in when the guys start getting turned off by your being clingy. Self examination may tell you what you want/need to know.

It is the part that thinks people are or they will become each other's property, after the words are uttered and a relationship starts. Then there is that part...the light side of it, which is caring and quite charming and sits right with the heart. The part that says, I care for what we have and do not want to see it taken away. There are fine lines everywhere and a smart man or woman knows how to navigate them. The other stuff, being clingy or taking up their space....well...we have our space, too...and our own lives and activities. As long as both partners are aware of it, no one gets bothered. I always suggest to the newly matched, pick up new activities or keep up with the old ones, which is for you only...just because you have someone in your life, it doesn't mean that s/he should be all there is to you.

I have no problem in reassuring someone that I'm still here and interested, and if they get out of hand, I simply ignore them for a day or two. That's usually all it takes to bring them back to reality and act right. What some see as jealous and clingy, I see as interested and involved....
