There are certain people who I like to refer to as "crowd followers".

These are the chicks who let society dictate what parameters should be used when choosing men. What's cool in a man and what's not cool. The ones who let society tell them what their methods of operation in the dating world should be. They depend on the opinions of others to form their own opinion about someone and can be stereotypical.

The crowd followers can be compared with a lab full of Dell computers. Where each and every computer has the same operating system programed on their hard drives. And will load up the operating system in the same fashion, following the same binary code of instructions.

So which one are you, human being, with your own way of thinking and operating, being able to render your own opinions based on your own observations and experiences? Or a Dell computer, which goes by what is programmed on the hard drive?

LOL LOL

To answer your question Milas, and I'll even go a bit further....

Since I was a teen, I've always done what I felt was best (pun intended). Don't get me wrong I don't mind listening to advice etc., but I have the final say so about accepting one's advice.

I don't let society, society rules dictate my behaviors. I dictate my behavior. Society doesn't help me get a girlfriend, society doesn't pay my bills, and society doesn't help me get a job or get a promotion. My actions dictate my success or failures.

That being said, I definitely don't let computer rules, online dating rules dictate my decisions and I have success in doing so.

Computers and technology have taken a lot of people out of the reality realm of thinking, associating, and dating into the cyberspace mode of thinking and let technology take over their natural mode of thinking. It also gets many people addicted to the internet thereby being attention wh*res, chatting/emailing extensively worrying about when to actually talk to a person over the phone, how many times should they should chat/email before talking ... That's what happens when technology dictates people's behavior and confuses many. That's why many ask those type of questions. It's because the internet has taken over their lives.

Instead of simply talking - oh by the way *67 is a method to use for the people that are so leery to talk to another person after rapport has been established. Instead of just going with the flow (if flow is established) using basic common sense, technology shouldn't impact a person's decision and behavior.

Technology should be used in dating as simply a means to initiate, contact, meet new friends, and array of other sociable means of communication, but it shouldn't take control over people's lives as it has done to so many people.

I am a human computer. I'm a Linux box, which means I'm open source. Open source means I'm constantly reworking the software in an effort to improve the OS...make it more reliable...make it more stable. Open Source means I'm not proprietary, or predatory, I'm just me; silly, fun, reliable, and stable.

Welcome back, Horace. I know you don't acknowledge a shadow, but I am glad to see you're out of Banned Camp.

Okay, I know this has very little to do with this post - but, the thread reminded me of it:

"Subject : Upgrade from a girlfriend to a wife.

Software Engineer writes ............

Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0 and noticed
that the new program began unexpected
child processing that took up a lot of space and valuable
resources. No mention of this phenomenon was included in the
product brochure.
In addition, Wife 1.0 installs itself into all other programs and
launches during system initialisation, where it monitors all other
system activity. Applications such as Smoking 10.3, Boozing 2.5
and Saturday Night
Pubs 5.0 no longer run, crashing the system whenever selected. I
cannot keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run
some of my other favourite applications like Night Club 4.3, Dance
'n'Drunk 2.0 and Bachelor Party 7.77.
I am thinking about going back to Girlfriend 7.0, but the
UN-install does not work on this program. Once I
tried to uninstall Wife 1.0 but got this error "General Protection
Fault in module House Security. The uninstallation will abort."
Can you help me, please!!!

Reply from Tech. Support

Dear Software Engineer,

Ref : Upgrade from a girlfriend to a wife.

This is a very common problem men complain about, but is mostly
due to a primary misconception. Many people upgrade from
Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0 with the idea that Wife 1.0 is merely a
UTILITIES & ENTERTAINMENT program.
Wife 1.0 is actually an OPERATING SYSTEM and designed by its
creator to run everything. It is unlikely you would be able to
purge Wife 1.0 and still convert back to Girlfriend 7.0. It is
impossible to UN-install, delete, or purge Wife1.0 from the system
once installed. You cannot go back to Girlfriend 7.0 because Wife
1.0 is not designed to do this. Some have tried to install
Girlfriend 8.0 or Wife 2.0 but end up with more problems than the
original system. Look in your manual under "Warnings-Alimony/Child
Support" which was given to you at the time of registration with
Wife 1.0. I recommend you keep Wife 1.0 and just deal with the
situation. Having Wife 1.0 installed myself, I might also suggest
you read the entire section regarding General Partnership Faults
(GPFs).
The best course of action will be to enter the command C:\
APOLOGIZE.

Infact I would suggest you to use this command everytime Wife 1.0
crashes on your system. Wife 1.0 is a great program, but very high
maintenance is required. Consider buying additional software to
improve the
performance of Wife 1.0.
I recommend Flowers 2.1 and Chocolates 5.0 or Movies 4.5 which
will improve the performance of Wife 1.0. Do not, under any
circumstances, install Secretary-With-Short-Skirt 3.3. This is not
a supported application for Wife 1.0 and is likely to cause
irreversible damage to the operating system.

Best of luck.
Tech Support."

Democrat? Bleeding heart liberals that think with their emotions and no common sense?

Independents? A cross between liberals and conservatives and always looking to be on the winning team? Because they have no principles to stand on?

Republican? Always thinking with your head and promoting tough love to society?

Is your cup half empty or half full?

I feel with my heart and think with my head. Breaking new ground if needed.

As far as my cup, it depends whether I'm filling it or emptying it, but in either case it's only half anything for the moment.

qnofmycstle, then why is it that some people feel they are above the law. No one is born to be racist or to hate. it is learned. Discrimination was the law in the deep south until the federal government stepped in and passed the Civil Rights Bill. Even with laws, there is still discrimination and now the courts are going the other way and making it hard to get justice for the victims. What is moral for one person may not be moral for another. When people start touting moral superiority, it smacks of elitism and arrogance. JMO

Reread the context of her statement. and besides, it was used to illustrate a point about laws of society dictating how people are programmed and raised. Brain dead, I think not and sometimes it is better to look before you leap.

You should follow your own advice. "looking before leaping". Your ignorance, is exactly part of the reason of most of societies issues. I mean no disrespect to you as a person, but your idealization as to this threads' topic? And to pull your race card out of the sleeve, I;ll refrain.

Guess you've done it though. Got your race perspective initiated into the thread. What a punk.

I'm a white boy, cracker or what ever. But I would never discuss my race when talking if "ARE YOU A HUMAN OR A COMPUTER" .

Sorry, just don't like smucks
