Suffered severe traumatic brain, spinal and hip injuries. Have undergone 4 brain and spinal surgeries, 3 brain neuro-stimulator implant surgeries and 1 hip surgery.
My most recent implant surgery 8 Feb 2008, it's been a long recovery process.
And now I'm fighting the biggest battle ever. The bureaucratic redtape bullshit trying to get the proper disability ratings from the Army. I've had several articles written on me in the (Army Times, New York Times, USA Today)concerning my battle with this bureaucracy. Unfortunately I'm not the only one dealing with these issues. There are hundreds of service men and women dealing with Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI)and the bureaucratic BS trying to downplay it's life altering and challenging longterm effects. Our government is turning a blind eye to the Traumatic Brain Injury and turning it into the next Desert Storm Syndrome by minimizing it's effects and existance.
I've been serving for over 25 years and this is how I get rewarded by our politicians and senior military leadership at the pentagon.
Our politicians are more concerned about taking care of and rewarding illegal immigrants than they are in taking care of our service men and women and our disabled veterans.
