Ever feel like you owned a thread? I feel like I owned the global warming thread.

My friend, I admire your perseverance with that crowd. You kept slugging away, trying to elevate the dialogue.
Those Current Events threads are populated by neanderthals. They have some stunningly stupid ideas, and they often quote strange, sometimes obscure sources. They do not want to "confused with the facts." They like their personal versions of the world.
Besides the personality disorders who regularly post there, the level of hate, narrow-mindedness and meanness regularly posted in the threads is too unpleasant to witness for long. I have to leave after a while 'cause I can't stand the noise anymore.
You're a tough debater, I'll give you that.
Try starting one over here. Let's see what you can get started?!
Peace, Pam

I usually do not have good conversations with fellow liberals. Like, I would have nothing to add. I'm only good if I'm arguing.

Yes, I have to thank you for your persistence on global warming.
I think there is still plenty of room for interesting discussion among liberals. For example, we have never agreed among ourselves when military intervention is appropriate -- we are hesitant for good reasons, but there are some cases where it clearly has done some good, like Liberia.
Also, it's an interesting question what to do about the deficits. We need better health care and the infrastructure needs fixing, but if the debt gets any higher we're going to have to file for bankruptcy. So liberals can differ about that too.

Hi guys,
I so agree...we don't all agree about everything.
We could discuss the W A R. When do you think we will get out or should we? What do you think?
