When a troop is hurt, I will stand.
When a wife is sad, I will stand.
When brother crys, I will stand.
When America is attacked, I will stand.
I will stand when those who can not need someone else to do it. They stood for us and defend our way of life, never mind how you feel about this war, but do mind how you treat my troops, my friends and brothers. I will stand, I will stand in the way of those wanting to say horrible things to the families of our fallen.
When a Troop crys cause he is tired and lonely and scared, I will stand behind him, in spirit, in thought and prayer. I will stand at his leaving and I will pray I can stand at his return, but if he comes home in a flag drapped coffin? I will stand for him that stood for me.
I will cry a thousand tears cause he will not cry at the birth of his child, or see his kid grow up. I will cry when a mother, father, sister, brother wife and friends cry cause he was lost. I will cry for the thousands lost so we can be free, or not have to fight on our home soil.
I ask only that you look into your heart. Know that everytime you see a Troop, remember this. They didnt have to be there, they chose of there own free will to go into danger, so show them the respect they deserve. Shake there hand, tell them thanks, even if you dont think they care, trust me, they do, they will know that if they die, it was for something.

My ex boyfriend, who I am still great friends with is leaving at 3 am to go to Iraq...he is going to be gone for 2 years..I am going to miss him so much!!! He has been there for me through everything, even tho it didn't work out between us, he was still a great friend, and soon to be father.

Sorry to hear he is leaving.. I have several friends over there now, its bad right now, alot more than there telling, but I know this, our troops are well trained and some mean SOB's so they are giving alot more than there taking...

hey there Vet,
Great thread.
I have a long line of vets in my family.
Both Grandfathers served, WWII and Korea
2 uncles in Nam
Brother Marine, several cousins, in Army, Air Force and Army Reserve
and now My Only Son is serving in Iraq. I'm very proud of this heritage in my family and I am an avid supporter of our troups. I remember Nam so, I wont allow that kind of treatment of our troups to occur again. Not on my watch.
