I mean, really? Isn't that what facebook and myspace and twitter and all those other social networking sites are about. I thought this website was honestly about finding a date. About actually going out into the real world and getting to know people, going out and actually doing something with someone. Not about having 44 friends, 87 friends, over 100 friends on your page. In real life if you were to date that many people wouldn't you simply be called a hoe?

ok, maybe i misrepresented myself. I'm not saying that there is a problem with having alot of friends on your list. And no, you are not considered a hoe simply because you have alot of friends on this site. I agree with the fact that there are some really cool and interesting people on this site and probably because of the distance between people its simply easier to keep in contact even though there's no potential possibilities there.
All i'm saying is that for the people and only the people that have so many friends on their lists simply to make themselves feel good or that they have such low self esteem that they have all these friends on their lists who they really have no communication with just for the sake of having them on the lists is what bothers me.
If you make this site among other sites your life, then there's a problem with that. And if you honestly was going out in real life and dating hundreds of men, that would be very unacctractive to me. Sure, i've dated woman and currently am dating woman. Until I find myself in a committed relationship, i don't see a problem with dating around, but there's definately a difference with the amount of people you date vs. the quality of people you date.

Actually, this is the first thread, in fact, first conversation I have heard of where the number of friends was tied to some popularity contest or something.
People just have friends - I don't really think it's that big of a deal how many, who they are, if a person dates someone on their friend's list or not, etc.
I mean, I don't care because it's not important enough to care about.
And, it sounds like, in your view, we date people on our friend's list?!. I'd better tell my honey I'm bisexual then - I didn't know I was.

Ok, so maybe i was just being a bit closed minded. I joined this site because i work full time and go to school. The club scene isn't really my cup of tea anymore. So i figured it would be cool to find people in my area and hang out from time to time, go on a few dates and who knows, maybe even find the love of my life. The people on my friends list are actually friends : I chat with them, tell jokes, share stories, comfort them on their bad days, share their joys and triumphs on their good days. I'm closer to some of them then others, and being my friend doesn't necessarily translate into love notes, cyber-sex, nude pictures, dating, sex, or marriage.

How do you determine why someone has friends on their friend list. I used to have everyone hidden because of judgmental people like you, but then I figured it wasn't even worth it.
