I'm a Texas lady and while I have a pretty smile, I'm curious about something Spurs. What has a 'pretty smile' got to do with what a person is like inside? Beauty is only skin deep and maybe you are not saying the right things to bring out her personality and the rest of her goodness and are doing something to "turn her off," and are you really being yourself? Us women can spot a phoney a mile away, well....., sometimes we get fooled.
I used to belong to this dating web site a couple of years ago, and I saw so much controversy and lies that I got tired of all the rhetoric and left and actually met someone off line, who also turned out to be someone opposite of who he tired to be. He had a real nice smile too and said a lot of things that his actions did not support.
I have to admit that I am also attracted to someone by the way they look, but sometimes when you see beyond their physical appearance and look to the heart, you will find someone absolutely different than the way their appearance is represented. I have seen beautiful people on the outside, but their heart was cold and callous, and I have seen people who are not that attractive look even better because of their warm, loving heart.

Beauty is NOT just skin deep. In nature it represents health and good genes. All creatures are attracted to 'better looking' creatures. Unfortunately (or not) humans can create the appearance of health & beauty even when it doesn't come from within. So we have to deciefer the differnce.

I can not imagine someone not returning a smile unless your smile seems to be coming on too strong (sexually). Anyone loves a good honest friendly smile that just says hi! If a guy smiles at me with a little too much sexuality it kinda scares me off. I have to get to know someone before I start the flirting stage. Kinda drop it down a notch or 2 and see if that helps. I come from Alabama and we all greet one another with a smile or nod of the head. It is just the southern thing I guess. I wish you luck!

A smile is universal! Sometimes our mood inserts misinterpretation. I try to always take everything light-heartedly, unless I'm proven differently. That way, if there's no contention, I will always believe it was good!!

Dear Texas Ladies, i have started this thread and it was caused by a sincere question .
Glassy has been again right!!!
On my behalf i can say only one thing if i can cause a smile i would break my neck to do so.
And i have to say ladies ,even if we might not allways understand as man, what is behind the smile , it is still priceless , we love to cause it and sometimes we just need a word to know if we are on the right track or we might get slapped.
Sincerely. ** Spurs

I have to agree with you ClassyLady. It does help to keep yourself looking good on the outside as well as on the inside. I have a problem with men who do not take care of their hygiene, especially blackheads, too much facial hair; large beards like some of the mountain men wear), greasy hair, etc., but the worst for me is someone who smokes AND chews. No way am I going to kiss a man who smokes, much less chews. My Wonderful Mother used to say: "Kissing someone who smokes is like kissing an ashtray." No offense to anyone here who may smoke and I suppose if two people smoke then it would be okay for them, but if you do not smoke, it is very offensive to be around those who do. So, there is no doubt there are a lot of factors that attract us to one another and I also believe that first impressions do count.

All my life i have tryed to find and discover what i am and any things i find to identify with are out in the nature ,like a dust devil for instance.
But even that i do smoke i would not settle for a ashtray ,maybe a gunpowder keg.Lol.
As far as hygene well maam some man believe they are dogs to such extent that do attempt to carry odours of much strenght that keep other humans away .
My advice is to keep as far away possible.
To my awe i just heard of one of such where i work and as man we did make shure he received a verry strong ultimatum .
In the military world such creatures are treated with extreme prejudice .
But that is not all man, we do have bad habbits but there so many of us to choose from.
Good luck there are some out there that are allmost perfect and in time you will find one.
With respect .

Not to get into any kind of argument or debate here Spurs, as everyone has the right to agree to disagree, but I don't think looking for someone with good hygiene is expecting perfection, if that is what you were implying. If you smoke that is your business, but I don't want to subject myself to a living environment with anyone that does. And that is my right. While you have the right to smoke or not, no one has the right to impose it on those of us who do not. By the way, I didn't mean to change your subject and I hope you are still smiling. I am. And, liked or not....this is ME.
