Going along with Kidd's post, I went to Boot Hill in Dodge City about two weeks ago with my students. What a fantastic opportunity. I wish we could have gone when they had shows for the kids to watch. If you can find time, go. It's small, but I really enjoyed the old town atmosphere. I hear there are other things to check out; however, being from Michigan, standing on a big hill to stare at a gazillion cows and their poop smell isn't an event I want to experience. If you go to boot hill, spend a buck and get a Saspirilla.

Rosehill: Was moved from it's original place to be nearer the railroad for the purpose of commercial trade. Now it has a rail road through it that blocks all traffic including emergency traffic from one half to the other.
Wichita: Originally one of the great Cow Towns. Cowboys and gamblers thrived off the city. Now we can't even pass an ordinance to build a casino. Also home to three pioneers of the airplane industry. Walter Beech, Cessna and the founder of Boeing.

Conway Springs, Ks. Home of the freshest water in the state (At the time in history) 7 Fully operating spring houses were used for drinking, bathing, and cooking water. Now down to just one spring, it is still fully operational. But with all of the farming out here, I wouldn't recommend drinking it. Lol
Sumner County, ks (Wellington, Conway Springs, Argonia) Worlds largest Wheat producing region.
