They discolor because they are Blood ROTTING under your skin untill your body reabsorbs it and broken blood vessles.. and They weaken your blood vessels which can become a problem later in life when you get blood spots from weak veins just breaking on their own. If you suck hard enough long enough you can actually draw the blood all the way through the skin you just have to be more concetrated on sucking in a smaller area so In a way Hickies are somewhat like a failed attempt at being a blood sucker. Sorry I dont want to be no freaking Vampire... Ewww.

Its a sign that says more then "Im taken", and when some people see them they want to "tap that" because they see it as a way your obviously putting out. Ever notice how much more you get hit on and get the attention when you have a hickie? Its like wearing a wedding band out, there are a lot of people that will hit on you when you are wearing that gold band. (Yes me and a friend of mine tried this out when we went out to a bar, I still had my wedding band after I was divorced and she had hers because she was going to get married but had a change of plans. There are guys out there that like hit on you like no other, them being married also, they are just looking for the quick fix, no strings attached sex, than they go home to their wives.) I myself do not like hickies, just a personal preference, mark your territory but do it another way.
