i had that happen to me. we talked on the phone for nearly 6 months. then we met. what a negative person as well as a jerk! whew, couldn't leave fast enough! lol!

Do you think we maybe put way too much energy & thought into that first meeting? It is really awkward for most and I think a shy person wouldnt be near the person they normally are???JMTs

its nothing deep... when you meet up there isnt attraction. on phone its alot easier to be fun charming sparking attractive.
then you imagine its all gonna match up in person. if there is zero physical attraction it can go south quick. may sound shallow but 'tis true.

the unwritten fact remains.."the Click" or the "spark" is 90% physical(ok..don't bust my chops..75%, 82.5% whatever)..IT'S PHYSICAL 1st for most guys..
I know many women CLAIM they look for "a funny guy".."I look for his eye's" they say...or "I really go for a Honest man"...but in reality..would you be attracted to and want to be intimate with a funny, honest..Ugly midget with a hair lisp?...NO..
It's a sad truth that we all have physical "types" and although we may "like" someone as a person, or a chat buddy...we NEED to have that attraction...Just an opinion...It is a reason why I think anyone "doing this" should be honest about their appearance and exchange photos without hesitation..(and make them photos taken in the DECADE!)...it saves everyone the embarrassment of a "yikes" date.

I agree with mrcareful. Men and women alike are very visual. You can have a lot of attraction for a person on the phone using other senses but it still boils down to the visuals. If you are not attracted visually to a person it just isn't going to happen.

Honestly, i think any guy can fall in love with a girl, if you think of how the person makes you feel when you are around them, do you wanna just here the person talk, as our hear melts to every word. I think It is unique if we through away our childish perceptions we can learn and fall in love with anyone!
