I just want to say that I recently went to Memphis for 2 weeks for training for my new job and I have to say the southern hospitality was so awesome. I never realized how different life is in the south. I LOVED IT!!! It was the first time I ever been further than Boston!! I was amazed how much different way of life is and attitudes are. I am definately going back very soon.....

The NW is like that also...we are very friendly...
we like to help each other..
we say hello to those in the grocery store...
might even strike up a conversation while waiting in line.
Why be a stranger....leave where you are, if your find yourself uncomfortable,
and enjoy the side of life...

Thank you for the nice compliment. We are a proud bunch and a little goofy at times, but we are friendly....glad you enjoyed your trip.
Next time, come on down, sit a spell on the porch, smell the honeysuckles, listen to the crickets at night, and I'll get ya a nice glass of sweet tea!

Nothing like the laid back, polite, caring and friendly attitudes of the southern culture honey. The northern states are beautiful, I am simply not used to the alien attitudes I have experienced there. I love the south!!!!!

I'm not from the south - although I have lived down there......yeah the people are very down home and friendly.......I'm that way maybe because I've lived so many places. Some people don't know how to react to a "friendly" person.....

I agree stormy. I dont think I was supposed to be from Maine because I fit in great down there. I love smiling and talking to strangers, so it felt like home down there. Its more of a relaxed atmosphere. The trip opened my eyes about the south. I actually met a couple nice men down there....oooo la la!! lol Good times!!
