I slept straight through it. My cats must have too because they'll usually react strongly enough to a loud truck going down the street to wake me up.

But I sure felt the one at 10: 15, when the whole house shook, and mym monitor almost fell to the floor, and a few pictures fell of my desk. Dishes rattled, and my bed moved from the wall about 3-4 inches....

I was not home for the 2nd Quake. But I
definitely felt it this time. This time I think [not sure]
it was less, like 4.2 and I hear of more damage from it.
I keep thinking Illinois is surrounded by [water]
rivers could this make a difference in our future?

Can you imagine us breaking away and having to cross major bridges like in San Francisco just to get to us? Not sure I would like that.... We'd be an Island for sure.....

I was at work and the windows were rattling as well as all the glass bottles in the cooler. I headed for the kitchen area and away from all that glass, but luckily none of it broke. Then my daughter called a while later from Northwest Indiana (by Lake Michigan). They felt it too!

Well apparently, there have been a few more lesser quakes reported 4 - 7 miles NNE of Belmont, IL. You can go to http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsus/Maps if you would like to track these.

Believe it or not, I was at work helping unload a semi and did NOT feel a thing. Not the one at 4 something and not the one at 10 something. I have had people ask me what did I think about the earthquake and I am like, "What earthquake?" So I asked some of the others who I work with (we go to work at 4 a.m. to unload trucks for Target) and they said they didn't feel anything either. I do know what an earthquake is. I grew up in SO. CA. and have been thru a lot of earthquakes. The worst one I remember was in 1979. We lived in San Jose, CA. I worked on the first floor of a three storey mall in a bank when this "roller coaster" 'quake came thru. That was weird; that felt weird.

Well, I am behind on this. Last nite after midnite [the early morning hours of the 21st] we had another earthquake . Kinda makes a person afraid to close their eyes.
Who knows? we might wake up in a big hole -
[shuddering, and backing out-bad thoughts],
News says we have had 15 tremors since the first one.
Do we really know what to do in case of a really bad earthquake?
I know I'm a gonna learn, pronto!
