I'm in Greenwood and I felt it too. I was still awake. I live on the third floor of an apartment building. I felt it in the center of the apartment -- the kitchen --which was shaking. Where do you live in Indianapolis?

Hey yeah um how could I miss it.
Scared the h out of me! My karma does not lend itself to quakes very well, I can handle tornadoes lived with them all of my life but this is not something you can do anything about, which is really scary. lol Get up take a couple of steps towards the door and you say to yourself um where am I going to go? Duh. lol
The last one I remember was in 87 there was one in 79 and 2002 but not much to write home about.
This one was much shorter and more violent.
The one in 87 was longer in time and was not that bad on the ricter (if I am spelling that right?) scale they say it was 5.0 but I think it was much, much lower than that.
This one was really scary and they say it was 5.2 for sure. I am thinking that is about right for the scale thing.
Another thing is we really, that I know of have not had any tremors from the first inital one. You know aftershocks? I really think it started last night and I felt something shaky about 10:30 pm my dog was pacing the floor last night then I got up about 5 am this morning and then at 5:38 or whatever time it was the last thing I remember was saying to myself "Man I got to wake up I am really.....then my couch started wobling and I thought I was having a heart attack cause my side from being right next to the side of the couch was feeling the vibration happening.
Then I thought wait I am hearing something like a rumbling noise and I thought Tornado, but my windows were open all night and this morning I looked at the window and saw no breeze althougth I suppose that doesnt matter cause there have been tornadoes that start with no breeze but then it got worse with the vibration and sounds and I kept looking at the window but still no breeze and it just started rumbling and I right away knew it was a quake. Said to myself "You have felt this before you know what is really happening), lol but maybe I was in denial. lol
Oh well nothing is damaged and I am happy for awhile but then I found out there was another one about 4 am found that out from someone at work that talked to a friend of hers. Then supposedly they say we had one at 10 am (aftershock) I have never heard of us in Indy having this many in a 12 hour period.
So lets look at the timeline for me:
10 pm slight rumble and sound of a rumble. My dog was pacing the floor.
4 am a friend heard and felt rumbling and her dog jumped up out of bed and freaked.
5:38 or 39 am Big time rumble and sound of vibration and felt it, right before my dog was pacing the floor again and this time following me around like a real puppydog.
10 am a slight aftershock really quick so much I didnt feel it cause I was walking around at work.
Is that freaky or what? We have never had so many in a 12 hour period. Weird huh?
Wonder if the Sonic Boom from the planes flying overhead in Kokomo the other night might have had something to do with vibrating the Fault line? Again
GOD us. That's all I can say.

I didn't feel any of the before or aftershocks. They're saying there may be some for the next 2 weeks or so.
Funny how dogs always know! I've heard several accounts about the dogs knowing and acting strange before we felt it!
It was a strange feeling with the bed shaking! At first I thought someone was busting in my door, when I first woke up, but then I thought that couldn't be it, because that would not have made the bed shake! And the rumble didn't sound just from that direction.
I just went back to bed for another 45 minutes. Then woke up to the news of the quake.
I said I rememebered one in 69, but it may have been 79. A long time ago, I know that for
sure.
Puzzle; I wondered, too, if the two things could have been related. Strange that both happened so close together!
