hey coffee,i do know what you mean. Right now I just got home from work and I miss coming home and talking to someone about my day.I think if you have that special someone all the things in life that sucks goes away and you then realize how small your problems really are.I hate going to bed alone and then waking up alone. I've been divorced for over 2 yrs. now, and those are still the toughest things for me to do.And it sucks even more cause all my friends are married and have kids and they don't live in the same state as me, I wish I had a kid at least. Also when you get older its hard to get out there and date, cause things have changed and the age diffence. I want to meet someone who has the same interest as me.So yeah i know trust me, IT SUCKS!!! I found out the only friend I have right now is God.So at least i have that. Good luck coffee, hope you find that special someone.

I am alone (i.e. without a girlfriend) I am here to fill that noticable void. I function better with a woman on my mind. But, I do not consider myself lonely. I have friends, family, and God!

I think we're made to be be with someone and when we're not there's a hole there that longs to be filled..it waxes and wanes depending how occupied we are, but it's always there

Thanks for the compliments, the advice, and other responses. The ability for us to bond on this issue lets me know that I am really not alone. Looks, size, color, gender etc., has nothing to do with what we're feeling. I guess you have to weed through the lies and deception to get to the real deal. I was just getting tired of the process. It seems that the problem for many of us who replied yes to the question, is not the meeting people part. We may indeed be meeting alot of people, we just haven't met the RIGHT person. I'm also getting from alot of the responses that I should KEEP GOD FIRST, continue to be myself, stop looking, enjoy life and the time I spend with my friends and family, stay open to meeting new people, and be patient! Patience is the hardest part. ON A BRIGHTER NOTE: Going through all of this, I'm sure I will recognize and appreciate the Gentleman that GOD SENDS to fill the void of lonliness that I feel from time to time. ::yellowbanana: Anyway, thanks again for your responses. I have learned alot. Hope we all have!

Only every second of every day. Even when I'm with my best friend, I long for more. I'm never occupied enough to "fill the void"

I am very lonely and like the person above I seem to just become more lonely each day.
This thread will probably die now because whatever.
It just gets harder and harder, especially with two young children. I get depressed and humor is sometimes very difficult...Than even a dating site can be depressing. I know I am not the only one with this problem, as I have spoken to others with the same problem...It becomes to easy to

I live in the middle of no-where on a twenty acre ranch, almost two hours from work on a bad weather day. Lonely? No! I just bought a Taco-Bell dog with an attitude. The elk and deer will never be the same! Bob

I personelly think anyone that has been in a relationship or married get lonely, because you are use to having someone to share things with, someone that will listen to you and someone to fill the other side of the bed at night.I do think that going to bed alone is when it is really the worst, and getting use to that.I actually couldn't sleep in the bed alone for a couple of months because it was too difficult being alone.Having a pet though does help.Mainly a dog,you can talk to them, they listen but they don't talk back. But having my dog really did sorta fill a gap.It may sound silly but a dog really is man's/woman's best friend.
