ok, i think I do have some valuable input here, you say he's gotten it on with the "friend", but they are just friends now, nothing intimate, which does happen. You also say he claims to be old fashioned, despite the one nighter with the friend, which is also reasonable, people do change over time. You also said he calls you on a regular basis, and I'm assuming he calls at around the same time, on a regular schedule, assuming so, you had a right to kinda go flippy over the late phone call because he had a friend (who was a one nighter years ago) over, and she was "talking about some personal issues" that needed a good ear. You also said yall talk for a loong time on the phone every time he calls.

Ok, so, my best friend is a guy, we've been friends since we were babies, we did date for about 2 weeks 2 summers ago, and it was awkward... we attempted sex, and both decided about 5 minutes into it that it was tooo weird, but we are still, in fact, as close as we were before, if not closer.
