If a man is lucky his desire to satisfy a good woman doesn't wane as he gets older. It only intensifies as the opportunities to express themselves in this way become fewer and farther in between. Then of course you run the risk of being touted as an old coot, not worthy of consideration as a competent lover.
But thankfully you weren't blinded by the thought of me making love to a fine and willing female, but you were able to see the wisdom in the text.
