Hi sundown...I've been widowed for 3 1/2 yrs now. Life does go on...Dating and even just meeting men is completely different now than before. It took me close to a yr and a half before I would even make the attempt, but it does get easier.
Take your time with it and try just going out a few times with friends as a group, thats what worked for me.

Hi. My husband passed away 2 1/2 years ago. I stay busy. Have joined a singles group and we do a lot of group things. Haven't found a guy that strikes my interest but I would like to find a male friend to do things with and see what developes. I look for things in the community that I can go to like the concerts in the park. The absolute worse thing you can do is drop out of life. We cannot change our plight but we can still go on living.

Im sorry to say this, but time heals all,is an understatement. It is hard to ever look at life the same again. A mistake that I made was never going to support groups that understood what I was going through. Depending on how long you have been a widow, you should really try and find some in your area.

Seven months after my husband passed away, I quite by accident met someone and we were together for two years. When we broke it off, I was a basket case for over a year and feel that perhaps I had not even given myself time to grieve in the first place. Five years later I began to "find" myself and have become quite content with my life. I have been widowed 15 years now. Everyone has to grieve in there own way; some it is only for a short while and others it takes longer but you do what you must to stay in this game of life and enjoy every adventure. I am finding it more difficult, the older I get, to find someone who fits for me! But you know what they say...it happens when you aren't expecting it!

The woman I am with now is a widow, and after much sadness in both of our lives, we couldn't be any happier, even the problems I had with her children accepting me are coming to an end. Life goes on, and there can be love and joy in your life again
