I have one and it seems to serve me good and bad even tho I'm a US Citizen I sometimes don't always understand or comprehend what ppl r saying and I have even been told to leave the USA (granted it was by a guy who stole my laundry soap) but, I feel so much pressure to lose it and wish i could somedays but, It causes me problems when i go out because the more i drink the thicker it gets and for some reason ppl here seem to think it's a lisence to grope and ignore my "no"'s..How can i deal with this better?

i like to hear different accents, but sometimes there r problems. i had an indian teacher once, his accent was so bad that it made the class very hard to understand. then he would get annoyed and frustrated when we kept asking him to repeat what he said. i think he took it out on us in our marks.
my dad has an accent and it gets stronger when he's angry.

I have your much needed solution and my advice is completely free, for one time only. Whenever you're in public you'll have to get used to liquoring yourself up so much so, that your speech will be completely incomprehensible. Then you can tell that supercillious twit what you think of his opinoins. But be sure not to take any breath mints. He has to know exactly where you're coming from. Now your accent is, basically, anything you want it to be and you can garner the appearance of anyone you want to be. Just make sure your laundry is finished and loaded up, ready to be transported. And be sure to designate a driver for these occaisions, or simply call a cab. But please don't give 'em a swift kick to the shin or a law enforcement officer might show up and you'll have to explain yourself, which can create a whole new situation. However if this does occur, I've noticed a few officers on this very site. Perhaps they could respond and intervene for you. So whether it be the laundromat or the supermarket, you can rest assured your newfound privilege will no longer go unheeded.

Because I work in international business I talk to people with all kinds of accents and am fortunate to be able to understand with very little problems. On the flip side... they sometimes have trouble understanding my accent! It is a southern thing I guess.
My favorite accent though of all that I hear in a day has to be Italian! Very sexy!

I love accents! I can do NY Brooklyn, Italiano, German, Minnesotan, Native American... But my natural accent is a Southern Belle purr. Have a friend who calls me Honey-butter, says butter would melt in my mouth! LOL

i'm accused of having a southern accent, but in my opinion, everyone else has one, not me. Being from rural Mississippi, there definately a draw. Being in Texas for the last 27 has added a bit as well. Get me drinking and around some cajuns an I'm home. Cajun, you should get that Italian guy down here for the Egg Knocking contest in Bunkie. He'll go ape chit. Talk about an excuse to party? Two people setting opposite each other at a small table at what appears to be an arm wrestling contest, to reach down, pick up their boiled egg (1 of several dozen they brought, and some even bring CASES of them), and start tapping the opposition. 1st egg that cracks, loses. Losers do not go home, back to the stache, pick up more eggs, and back at the tables knocking. oh, and a few Dixie beers dont hurt either.
I do not have an accent.. everyone else does though!!
