I am looking for a nice guy to spend some quality time with. I am very loyal and passionate. I really want to be with only one man, not more than one, and I want the man to only want to be with me. Start out slow, let things evolve as they may.
My interests are varied, primary things of interest to me are music (alternative rock, classic rock, jazz, blues, some country, reggae), film, documentaries, non fiction, travel, home decorating/improvements, food (eating out and cooking), and playing cards, board games and darts. I am now in a stage where I want to start giving more back to the world in return for all the wonderful things and experiences I have been fortunate to have. I recently signed up with Habitat for Humanity and am starting to work construction sites. I would like to start combining some H4H work with my travel trips, working on some international build sites and then scheduling R&R time right behind the builds.
I am seriously considering/leaning toward planning retirement outside the US. I hate cold weather, don't deal well with humidity, and if I feel I can't afford to stay in California, I may just want to head out of the country, somewhere with weather like Southern California. I am now planning most trips as retirement scouting locations. My dream would be to find that one man who is right for me and who would share the same dream.
I am very independent, speak my mind, and don't like to try to guess what someone is thinking or feeling. I am pretty even keeled, nothing gets me riled all that easily. I am fairly low maintenance, don't like to wear a ton of makeup, generally feel more comfortable in jeans than dressed up, though every now and again I can clean up fairly well. At home, I am a bit of a reformed housekeeper and organizer. I keep a very clean home now, and like everything in its place and easily accessible. I don't like chaos in my home, it needs to be my retreat. I do enjoy going out and doing things like travel, but I also have my moments where I am quite content just hanging out at home reading, listening to music, watching some TV, or just playing with my cats. I must have some down time on my own, even when in a relationship. We all need to recharge our batteries, and much as we may love the folks in our life, sometimes we need solitude.
I don't "date" for the sake of dating, and I am not about to have sex just for the sake of meeting some hormonal need. While I have had some relationships over the years, I frankly did not make dating or getting married a priority over the majority of my adult life, more focused on career and work, but now with retirement being not all that far away, a scant 10-12 years, hopefully, now I can see where I would like to have that constant partner in my life at that point. So is there a man who could be that partner? I guess time will tell.
