I don't have a preconceived notion about the *type* of man I am attracted to except that he must have good character and find humor in every day.
I am happy on my own, despite not having a partner in my life at the moment.
I found that I needed to be alone for a while to figure out what I want in a dating partner and now I know.
Lots of guy profiles say they are looking for a woman who has their own life and interests, well, here I am :laugh:
I love sports, watching and playing ... my dream job would involve sports and travel but the Celts, Pats or Sox haven't discovered my talents yet so I am working contentedly at my second choice until I find a way to impress them. I am a great partner in Trivial Pursuit for the science and sports categories.
I love reading, music and movies.
My tastes are eclectic ...
I read alot, I can go from Charles D*ckens, Tolstoy, Harlan Coben, Alexander McCall Smith, David Sedaris, Mitch Albom to whatever my friends recommend at the moment. Recently read Khaled Hosseini's latest, very powerful and To Kill a Mockingbird remains a fav always!
Musical tastes range from Bruce (ok, I just found his channel on Sirius and it's like re-living my college days) to Miles Davis, Dvorak, Marvin Gaye, Prince, ani difranco, Bach, Dave Matthews, Bob Marley, Dave Brubeck, Jacqueline du pre, Beatles, Phish, oh, I could go on but you get the picture.
One of my favorite movies of all times is "It's a Wonderful Life" (sappy I know, but I love it round the holidays) and I loved Seabiscuit, Vita e bella, Fever Pitch (I know, it's not an award winner but cute and some of my family was there when they filmed the scene at Fenway) The Departed, Shawshank Redemption, Casablanca, Philadelphia and Million Dollar Baby.
I love to travel, practically anywhere. Love the ocean and mountains, US, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Africa and the Carribean.
I have a practical car and a modest home ... the humor and character of a person is more important to me than the material assets they can attain. I spend most of my time and resources being social rather than attaining possessions.
I have a great family and lots of friends who would keep me busy more often than not so I hope you will like to hang out with them occasionally ... I'm pretty independent but do enjoy their company because they are fun and interesting.
I'm at a point in my life where I am interested in a long term relationship eventually. I have found it fun to just go out, enjoy mutually interesting adventures and see where it leads, so who knows? I may not be the settling down type.
