I am still adapting to being single after 32 years of marriage.
It can be tough at times, but life is a learning process and I know this. I would not have chosen this change at this time so be patient with me as I learn new ways of thinking and doing. I promise I am worth the patience.
I recently learned of the existence of new things --- English Country Dancing, Contra Dancing, Irish Set Dancing, and Scottish Dancing.
These activities have expanded my opportunities for meeting new people beyond just the online dating scene
AND HOPEFULLY OVER TIME, One of the friendships I make online or throught the dancing could have the potential to develop into another relationship more special than the first half of my life.
Beyond work which I enjoy, I would enjoy getting to know some one with a similar working schedule ( normally 8-5 weekdays) and not too far in travel distance which would allow time after work and on weekends to explore the surrounding area and get to know the individual.
I have 3 granddaughters which I visit on weekends.
I am a native of Louisiana and have an endearing accent (I am told). 
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me --- My height, eyes and accent. Also I am a very calm person.
I like oldies, softrock and most country music. I also enjoy listening to classical instrumental music Bach, Bethoven, Vivaldi, etc. I took guitar lessons at one time but did not have the time to pursue developing the ??talent??.
In the past, I have recreationally played volleyball, softball (collisions break Noses), basketball, and Flag Football (belt loops break fingers). I enjoy watching professional sports.
I need to get back into Bicycling to get more in the outdoors. I like "drowning Crickets" but prefer when the fish are biting. I hunted when growing up but have not taken the time to explore the area available for hunting or local regulations.
Sometimes I get in the mood to explore and see what is around the next bend in the road and just to see the scenery from a different vantage point.
I have enjoy yard sales where you can find simple things that will surprise and make older granddaughters ( 2 year old and 5 years old) happy.
I enjoy reading military based historical fiction(WEB Griffin, Dale Brown, Clive Custler, Stephen Coonts) and older science fiction ( Robert Heinlein, Harry Harrison, Arthur Clarke, etc.) , and fictional history about migrations into north America and development of various cultures such as the mound builders etc as portrayed in the "PEOPLE OF" book series by the Gears, and fictional portrayals of ice age development in the "Clan of the Cave Bear series".
If I am not in the mood to read, I watch tv- specifically CSI programs, Numbers, the Mentalist, Eleventh Hour, and similar programs.
