Hi,
I am 35 years old, 5 ft 6 in, and about 125 (I think). Dark brown (short) hair and green eyes. I lived in Vienna, Austria for 12 years and in Bihac (Bihac Pocket), Bosnia and Herzegovina for 12 years. In the U.S. since 1997. During the war in Bosnia, I volunteered at the regional hospital as a wound nurse for 18 months. I also worked for various NGO’s (Doctors Without Borders, IFOR and OSCE).
Since in the U.S., I graduated from WCU (Elem. Ed.) and am now working towards my masters (taking classes whenever I can!). I am a teacher (Philadelphia SD) and a single parent. My daughter is 13 1/2. Over the past few years I have focused mostly on my career and daughter. The fact that I do not go out often contributes to my being single / few friends as well (unfortunately).
I absolutely love my job and find great satisfaction in being able to provide a safe learning environment and being a great model for my children. Some of my kids even call me “mom,” – probably because I always say “If momma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy!”  . Some even beg me to fail them so they could stay with me for one more year!
As for what I’m looking for … I'm looking for a best friend. I am just tired of being alone. I would like to find someone I can spend some quality time with. Not looking to get married … however, never say never! (but, not looking to get married). My daughter will be off to college in 4 years, and the thought of being ALLLLL alone really scares me. I own a 4 week, 4 bedroom timeshare and would love to travel the world … but again, not alone!
I am financially stable and not looking for someone to support me. I work hard for my money and take pride in my accomplishments. I am working on improving myself continuously. I am very independent and often stubborn (so I have been told  ) ... sometimes childish! I'm grounded in reality, but a dreamer at heart.
Very shy at first, but sociable and fun once you get to know me. Do not feel comfortable talking about my past experiences … unless I feel very comfortable with you.
