I'm kinda quiet at first. I would rather hear about you. I live in the DeKalb, IL area. **PLEASE NOTE I DO SMOKE**, but of course if you don't I would not smoke in your home or vehicle.** I don't wear make up, so what you see is what you get. I don't take hours to get ready to go somewhere. I can get dressy, but it's not my favorite thing to do.
Anyway, I love my family, my grand-kids and I think my many nieces are the bomb. I'm a blue jeans kinda gal with 2 cats & 1 rescue dog. My girl is a 5 yr old female yellow lab mix. I like to take her hiking at one of the local parks or a lake when the weather permits. (love me, love my dog is **NOT** a joke! She pretty much goes everywhere w/me, ...long story)
I recycle, own my home & rental property, own my car, pay my bills on time, so I guess I'm doing OK. I love road trips, seeing new places and getting off the beaten path. I like staying at motels or camping (tho I don't much like sleeping on the ground anymore!), campfires are excellent, playing cards(especially Euchre), going out to movies or at home watching a DVD or TV, and I like just sitting around talking. My family has a cottage on a lake in WI. Great weekend place to hang. Love to drive to GA to visit my oldest son & his wife (and my "grand-puppys"). I loved playing volleyball when I was younger, but I don't play much anymore. I like sports in person, not so much watching them on TV. I am *NOT* interested in drunken folk, social drink is fine. I'll have a couple beers or glass of wine now and then, but I don't care to be with a drunk. If you are more than an social drinker or if you are physically aggressive/violent, no offense but please don't respond. Been there, done that, never again.
MOVIES I've watched more than once: The Departed, An Unfinished Life, All of the Bourne movies, Forrest Gump, American History X, I am Legend, Stephen King's The Stand, Blood Diamond.
Some of my favorite:
TV SHOWS: Amazing Race, Saving Grace, Survivor, 2 & 1/2 Men, Scrubs, Lost, Heros, HBO's True Blood and Bill Maher. And most watched: Jeopardy!
MUSIC: Ray LaMontagne, Plain White T's, The Fray, John Prine, The Eagles, Robert Earl Keen, Elvis, I like most country and classic rock, etc.
BOOKS: Dean Koontz, old Stephen King, Larry McMurtry, John Grisham, Michael Critchton and so many others.
I would like to hear from people with some similar interests who is OK with jeans, pet hair and my 'shadow' dog. A man who can teach me about his interests. Someone who is honest, who speaks what is really in their mind, who can have a spirited conversation and/or debate with humor, who can ask and answer questions. A man who is interested in the whole woman and is not superficial. Looks aren't as important as personality to me. A man who wants a companion, but doesn't need one. (I'm not crazy about men who call me "honey or sweetie" when they don't even know me.) Someone confident in themselves and, while he would be self-sufficient, can also be supportive and be supported emotionally. A person who enjoys his own company as well as the company of others. A good listener and a good talker.
I also would be interested in making some friends, male or female, to hang out or chat with as well!!! I'm pretty funny and witty (with a hint of sarcastic wit) when you get to know me. I love a man (or any person) who can think on their feet and jab back. I don't suffer fools lightly, if you know what I mean. I don't treat them rudely, just not so fond of them. If I give a person a hard time, call them by nicknames, I probably like them a lot. If I'm overly polite or formal, I probably only tolerate them.
