I am an imperfect human. I'm not, nor do I want to be suzy homemaker/soccer mom. I tried that once. It made me miserable.
I have a daughter who lives away at college most of the year and an 18 year old son who lives at home. And, no, no way no how am I having more kids! Nor will I date anyone who thinks they want to have children someday. I'm not here looking for dates. I spend most of my time in gyms. I can find plenty of "dates" there!!! I'm looking for something with long term potential. That said, I won't know if there's long term potential unless I date. Welcome to my conflicted world.
I am casual, usually defiant just because it's fun, driven but not as often as I'd like, open minded, independent, and non-conforming.I have a full life. My life is pretty much my own - as much as it can be when most of my money goes to NIMO, Mobil/Exxon and the gov't but oh well. I am more than content these days (actually very happy!) but there is more than enough room for someone who doesn't believe relationship = us joined at the hip 24/7. I'd like to retire in about 10 years and do some traveling.
I only believe in lust at first site. Real relationships/friendships develop over time after getting to know & understand one another. Understanding takes time and communication.
I like camping, hiking, the Yankees, System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine, 10 Years, blah blah blah and whatever else I can't think of at the moment. I love music. I used to like pretending that could play my guitar, now it just frustrates me and hurts my fingers. I like to play MMORPGs (recovering EverQuest junky) but I don't play them because they suck up too much time and make my body sore from having to sit in this chair for too long - one of the things I HATE about being "middle-aged". I am a workout junky - it keeps me feeling alive, not too mid-aged, and also keeps my stupid girl hormones from wanting to kill people.
I am a personal trainer and weight loss & management consultant. I help people be happy living in their own skin. It makes me happy! I recently transitioned from IT Drudge. I was an independent consultant. I don't have what it takes to do the 9-5 thing to make someone else rich - even though that's kind of what I'm doing right now!! I'm just doing what it takes to get me to where I want to be. There's that "conflicted" thing again!  I think another word for that is uhm, hypocrite?
I like to drive fast. My car is kinda fast but not fast enough. I like loud music. I can't make it loud enough sometimes. When I grow up I wanna be a rock star and be on The Amazing Race. I want to win the Amazing Race and while I'm fantasizing about such things I'll win the World Series of Poker too. Oh but wait, I don't want to grow up!!
I'm looking for someone with similar or compatible interests. I need to be friends with the person I'm in a relationship with. We need to be able to just hang out and talk about nothing. Someone who won't tell me to turn the music down might work.
Money and the stuff it buys (like freedom) are great, but I need someone who is casual and not into keeping up with the Jones'. Externals don't impress me at all and I can't be bought! Talk is cheap!! Although, if I may be hypocritical for a moment... I don't usually respond to those without a recent photo.
I don't buy into the "all men are the same" thing because I've never met two who were. (Aside from the fact that they ALL say, "I'm not like most men". LOL YOU ALL SAY THAT!!)
I prefer the casual sort with an edge who aren't afraid of/turned off by humble (yes I am I swear I am), sometimes opinionated, usually self assured yet at other times incredibly self-conscious women who don't like to clean up after others! (See the suzy homemaker thing - I have enough trouble cleaning up after myself!)
