How do I write this without sounding like a sales pitch or advertisement? Well, we are all on here for various reasons. I am looking for someone who wants a serious, permanent relationship, and doesn't play games. There is a country song- I want a man to walk beside me, not in front of or behind me. That's what I'm looking for- a partner who is an equal, doesn't need someone to take care of him, nor is dominating. The type of person who can hold their own, but knows when it is time to compromise, just as I do. Sometimes two people can't have exactly what they want, but are adult enough to work out a resolution that both can live with. I want someone who knows what they want, and is really READY for me, not just waiting until someone better comes along, and wants to be with me for who I am. He's comfortable in his own skin, and is just as comfortable with my skin next to his. My match is the one who will fit me like a well-worn sweater, wrapping me up and keeping me warm, all with the freedom to move and be me. He needs to be able pick me up when I stumble, reassure me that he's always there for me, and let me do the same for him. He has his own faults, but sees himself as purely human. His glass should be half full. And, most importantly of all, he's genuine, honest, and not afraid to take chances in love and in life. We want to be liked for who we are, not punished for who or what we aren't; we all have needs that are important to be met; we all want to be respected; want to feel as if our feelings are important to whoever we're involved with. Things that are important to me are equality, compassion, understanding, and being able to be oneself. I've learned that it's not about giving and giving in a relationship...it's about being willing to share and communicate and respect one another that determines the success of a relationship.
