Humor is what opens me up and makes me feel close to someone. I can make almost anyone laugh, but I'm also responsible I'm very good at what I do and I am respected as an expert in my field.

I love coffee and mystery novels and strawberries dipped in chocolate. I want to spend time with an intelligent woman who is emotionally secure, who feels good about herself and who doesn't think the world is coming to an end if she puts on a few extra pounds.

My ideal day with a special person would probably involve things like: hiking through the woods, or paddling a canoe, browsing in a bookstore, or finding a park with a swing set built for two silly adults, or standing in a greeting card store trying to keep ourselves from giggling out loud. Afterwards, I'll cook up a batch of my legendary spaghetti or my cherry cheesecake (you'll think you've died and gone to heaven) And then the two of us cuddling on a sofa, each reading our own book or watching a good TV program.

I NEVER feel gloomy on a rainy day. To me, these days are for reading, baking, working a Sudoku puzzle (I am a hopeless addict), playing footsy under the covers, or sitting by a fire cuddling and talking.

One of my biggest accomplishment this past year has been to lose 20 plus pounds over the last few months. I am on a mission to trim off extra weight and get all my youthful muscles back (I know they're in there somewhere), but I still have a way to go so please consider this your truth in advertising notice.

I have always loved hiking, canoeing, white water rafting and shooting baskets, but now I'm making more time to fit these things back into my life. As the extra pounds keep coming off, I feel like I am rediscovering an exciting and thrilling side of life I had lost touch with.

I'm not through growing. I want to take up kayaking, travel more, take a gourmet cooking class and a dance class. I also harbor a secret desire to parachute out of an airplane...someday.

When I do watch TV, I watch sports, 24, My Name Is Earl, the History Channel, Turner Classics or (with some success) Try to out guess those smarty-pants Jeopardy contestants. I am looking for a friend first of all.

You've got to be a woman who is funny, thinks the Brad Pitt type of guy is overrated and can talk about more than the latest Hollywood gossip (shudder). If a relationship develops, all the better.
